A big thank you to @Vessi for sponsoring this video! After a few meals in Japan, I realized that the buffets are a bit different here than with its Vegas counterparts. While elegant with exception care and attention so the ingredients and dishes, it was just missing a bit of grandeur and over the top abundance that we've seen in the Vegas style buffets. However, I can across Japan's largest buffet and to my surprise, it's a Vegas style buffet! Will we see grand showcases of dishes and offerings along with the care and attention that is accustom to the Japanese service and hospitality? I can't wait to find out!
...and it certainly did not disappoint and to top it off, it was great value! A seemingly endless amounts of stations each hosting a seemingly array of dishes; from well made comforting dishes, to individual elegant sophisticated offerings, to the live stations, it was a great experience. The seafood and meats were top notch and well as the welcoming hosts and servers. The endless flow of drinks with wine, beer, whisky, cocktails, and a great umeshi plum wine was a bit indulgent, but I guess that's the point. Just make sure you save room for dessert as that was spectacular by Vegas & Japanese standards! Oh, did I tell you the price? An incredible deal at $35-$45 USD

The one buffet I was surprised at was a hotel in Milan. We had just checked in and were hungry. We noticed a buffet in the hotel restaurant. We grabbed a plate that was rather large but we did not think much of it. We ate and then were charged for two buffets each. It was explained the buffet price was for one trip only. The delicious lunch with two trips cost up roughly $85 each.

To be honest, I was getting a little bit concerned about the buffets in Japan until I came here. Very reasonably priced and I believe they normally have crab and other seafoods as well, just not on the day I was filming. Agreed, 2 hours is plenty of time.. though it was a bit of a challenge to film and eat within the two hours. Not too bad, but just had to be very mindful of the time and avoid the lineups 😉

Thanks Tim for providing your expertise on foods in restaurants across the world spectrum. Japan is my favourite destination for sightseeing and most importantly for the shopping and dining experience. Now that the COVID restrictions are no longer enforced, it’ll be great to go on shopping expeditions in Tokyo and Osaka in December 2023. If the Tokyo Arts and Crafts Show is scheduled in 2023, that will be a wonderful shopping experience for Christmas gifts. I’ll pick up a pair of VESSI sneakers prior to the trip. Best of luck in your travels discovering new and/or unique dining experiences.

that is a good price , if convert its RM160, i could do this once a year with my video crew of course to get the score points for the mind to the beat and unforced expression from everything around you, this could be the best ever magic if one can hit score points at every mind thinking moment

@@TimLeeLetsGo you must have an amazing digestive system. My eyes are bigger than my stomach as they say. I can only do two plates and maybe two desserts at a buffet. And then have to rest for a few hours lol.

This looks like a wonderful place to visit, with a wonderful variety of dishes. However, if (miraculously) I could afford to travel to Tokyo I would not go there because of the time limit. I have dysphagia and can only eat a little at a time; in reality, I nibble mostly all day. I would have to leave this buffet after eating only a very little food. But thank you for letting me enjoy this vicariously!

When you are there for two hours, do they come to your table and walk you out of the restaurant? Or is it based on the honor system?
@TimLeeLetsGo
@TimLeeLetsGo 7 ай бұрын
Oh, I can attest, that they do actually come by after the two hours are up. The reason is that they’re changing for the next seating 😉 they were very kind nonetheless🙂

Their menu changes from time to time and sometimes they do have crab legs and other seafood items so it’s really the luck of the draw or the timing
