@Mrs. Arthur Morgan there are some but nowhere as many as there used to be. If you look at old photos of Tokyo from the 90s and earlier you can see trashcan were commonplace, not anymore. Most today are also in front of convenience stores so that the shop can monitor what people put in them.

If you go out early in the morning you can see piles of garbage bags carefully disposed onto the streets in front of buildings. This is a real feast for crows and rats at night and it's a sanitary problem for Japan. I'm surprised that they haven't designed a workaround this yet.

The craziest thing is that the sarin used for the subway attack was rushed and of very poor quality. They had made much better, purer batches before but it had broken down by that time. If they had the time to make the pure batch again, that subway line could have exposed over 1 million people to fatal doses.

They got a tip-off that the police raid was coming so they only had a few days to try to get this batch finished (they already had it started but would have been expected to spend maybe 2 or 3 more weeks on it when suddenly they needed it in 2 days). They had to get rid of some of the purer batches from the past because either it had broken down over time or because it had to be disposed of before one of the previous raids. If they had some of those previous batches this could have gone down in history as the largest terrorist attack in history by a wide margin and could have had a death toll in the hundreds of thousands.

Shoko Asahara was executed on July 6, 2018. In Japan they do not publicize execution dates, even prisoners don't know until the morning of the day they will be hanged. Families and next of kin are informed after the execution has been carried out. Shoko Asahara was not the only Aum member to die on July 6, 2018, six others were executed with him and another six on death row were hanged on 26 July, 2018.

I was in Japan in Sommer of 2018 when the Japanese government announced the execution of the imprisoned members and their cult leader. I was pretty surprised Japan still had the death penalty. When I informed me more about the death penalty in Japan I read that the Japanese people have a strong sense of duty and order, that's why over 80% of the citizens support the death penalty. Even the family members of the criminals support the death penalty when the criminal is found clearly guilty. The reason may be the family thinks they failed in raising the culprit and support the death sentence is their way of taking responsibility. My journey trough Japan clearly showed me how right Report was about the sense of order and duty the Japanese people have :)

Also, one of the reasons Japan still has the death penalty is because the US added it to their constitution when they wrote it after the end of WWII. There are many people who created sanctuaries to welcome people to be their followers, learn wisdom and etc. It is also a means of herding people to carry out certain community activities which they think is righteous. That is why you will feel so comfortable that you might stay there for life and even make your children follow them. You will have the feeling of doing the right things and you will continue following the teachings wholeheartedly. There are many levels of wisdom. You have to correctly gauge the wisdom level of the people owning the sanctuary, and then move on when you find that the wisdom that you gain is limited. Anyway it is better to keep learning new wisdom from other teachers all around the world, and create new wisdom on your own. Wisdom has to be originating from yourself then it is truly yours.

There's a successful cult in the Philippines that actually can control the outcome of politics. And the members are proud of it. One of their beliefs is to just follow their leaders, without questions. That's why when election comes, politicians come in droves, hoping that one big cult will sway the outcome.
