Our Iraqi CBs are our main problem Saad Natiq & Rebin Sulaqa are decent Zaid needs a lot of work Ali adnan should retire internationally after this tournament We really hoped for Ameen Al-Dekheel to play with us, but he chose Belgium (hopefully, they will call him more . But the guy is not in his best time RN) but in next years, we'll see better CBs to come Like Yousef Al-Imam from Malmo, who plays with the Olympic team. We have Adam Rasheed, who just signed for Torino under 17 Dolatchi, who played for Germany U17 Lastly, we have Cardo, who was with Crystal Palace U21, but he got an injury and recently went back and started in low league but eventually will come back We have other more players In the midfield and other wonderful players (If only we can convince Noah Darvich 😑) In general, the Iraqi national team is still under development even if we manage to win the tournament We still have more work to do Our main goal is to qualify to 2026 cuase it's been 40 years

Thanks for the review and feedback on Indonesia's team. However, as the youngest team, second lowest rank team after Hong Kong (147/142), yet scored in every game, the only team who managed clean sheet in the group, bring back home 3 points against Asia's football Giants? we'll take it man, that's good enough for us.

Some points I agree with and disagree with. Gotta disagree with letting off Zion Suzuki like that. A keeper needs to be good and commanding enough to ensure that the back line is also calm and don;t have to worry about covering his butt. This is a Karius and Onana situation, where because Zion is so erratic and untrustworthy, the whole back line also gets affected. Also disagree about Tomiyasu, his presence alone at the back is calming and allows for them to play out from the back even better. Yes he can be much better than this, but we need to remember that he only just recently came back from an injury. I do think Itakura and him make a good partnership, but Machida is definitely really solid as well. I actually think Endo has been really really poor despite his goal against Iraq. He has been so good at Liverpool that it really baffles me how bad he has been. Slipping a lot, hogging the ball a little too long that he ends up losing possession. Where was all the one touch passes he was doing in the last few Liverpool games. He also doesn’t seem to be switching up flanks with his long range passing as often. I do agree however that Kamada is a huge miss, despite his poor form(although I more blame a lack of minutes given to him by Sarri). I do think however Hatate could also play that role, maybe not to Kamada’s peak, but he is also really good in tight spaces, can turn, pick out a pass and shoot from range. I’d also say he is Japan’s best set piece taker without Kamada in the team. Also agree that the Minamino, Kubo and Ito trio doesn’t work because they all tend to crowd in the center and right, heavily exposing the left back, who was Hiroki Ito at that time and asking a lot from him to both attack down the flank and defend. Minamino definitely a controversial and huge scapegoat amongst fans. I actually think he is Japan’s best and most clinical finisher, but I don’t think he can play one top on his own. Going forward, Maikuma needs to start over Sugawara on the right. He just offers so much more defensively even though he is not as offensively strong as Sugawara. Hiroki Ito and Nakayama are interchangeable imo. Ayase definitely needs to start over Asano and Maeda. The latter, while I really rate his speed, work rate and pressing ethic, is just one of the worst controllers of the ball I’ve seen. They definitely need Mitoma back asap for balance and providing width on the left. I’ve noticed that even Nakamura tends to cut in and hardly goes outside unlike Mitoma. While I do think Nakamura has a more powerful shot in him than Mitoma, I don’t think he actually adds and contributes too much to the team apart from some rare instances. With all that being said, I still think Zion Suzuki is the main issue Japan has atm. He really is one of the worst keepers I’ve seen and he isn’t even that good with his long range passing.
@skytrot
@skytrot 8 ай бұрын
I thought I was being harsh on Suzuki, but having checked some of the stats to compare with the eye test, I’m even more convinced he is a major issue. The man has conceded 5 out of the only 7 shots he has faced, saving only 2 of them. That’s incredibly horrible and with the exception of the first goal conceded against Vietnam, none of the goals he conceded were world beaters and all really save-able by a decent goalkeeper. Not even prime Maldini and Van Dijk in defense can “help him out” unless Japan don’t concede any shots on goal which is ridiculous to ask of them. The way I see it, Japan won’t make it past the next round with him conceding so easily. Teams are just gonna target him and try their luck with crosses and shots. The issue is that Moriyasu chose to bring in 3 inexperienced keepers who all have less than 5 caps each. What an idiotic and arrogant move on his part, thinking that an experienced keeper was not needed. Edit: For comparison, Shuichi Gonda who is but just a decent keeper, faced 8 shots on target alone against Germany at the World Cup and only conceded one which was via a penalty. In total he faced 18 shots against opposition like Germany, Spain, Costa Rica and Croatia and saved 14 of them. In Suzuki’s last 3 international games against Tunisia, Syria and Thailand before this tournament, he only had to face 1 single shot. It would be a miracle if Japan wins the tournament with him starting.

Hello?? Indonesia is the youngest team and has never participated in an official FIFA competition. and INDONESIA for the first time entered the AFC through the qualification route!! and what's great is that not only the senior team, but the U-20 and U-23 also entered the AFC through the qualification route!! and in my opinion, INDONESIA has got good results in its first EVENT at the ASIAN CUP.. at least INDONESIA managed to SCORE 1 GOAL in every match!! and are in the HELL GROUP.. JAPAN, IRAQ AND VIETNAM.. for us only VIETNAM is a worthy opponent, but in SOUTHEAST ASIA VIETNAM is already below us. VIETNAM were able to advance this long because of their rough play, and it can be seen that they have already received 2 red cards! INDONESIAN fouls are foul of reasonable PHYSICAL contact! not like Vietnam where the intention is to deliberately injure until it bleeds and aims at YOUR FACE.

Indonesia has a long history of rough (even violent) plays, which is why many teams dislike Indonesia. This isn't helped by Indonesia's mediocrity despite its huge passion to the sport. Look at a bunch of Indonesian comments whenever talks to their arch-rivals in ASEAN, especially Vietnam and Malaysia, you can see why people detest them (by irony, Indonesia had never advanced past the group stages). Now they have only three points, yet Bahrain isn't going to drop points to Jordan (it will be a fierce contest) while Oman or Kyrgyzstan just need to have their works done (likely Oman). Japan meanwhile sucked so much. This must be their worst ever Asian Cup since 1988 (ironically also hosted by Qatar). They were so disorganised, they didn't look cohesive, and they also looked so tired. The team we used to know back in the World Cup 2022... simply disappeared. With the possibility of South Korea facing them in the round of sixteen, Japan is surely going to exit the competition earlier than expected. My two cents is South Korea will overpower Japan since South Korea will only meet already eliminated Malaysia and, unlike Saudi Arabia, Iran and Australia (deeply scared of Japan), South Korea isn't scared of Japan. Iraq's B team was so poor in the match against Vietnam. It seemed like without Aymen Hussein, they could not play. The introduction of Hussein completely changed the dynamics, yet it revealed just how deeply dependant Iraq was to Aymen Hussein. It's clear Iraq will be eliminated once Aymen Hussein is locked.

all you said are true about Indonesia team, the passing, control, fouls etc. that's been a problem since long ago. That being said, Indonesia target is round 16 that's it, they are the youngest team & the second-weakest team, I think you're a bit harsh on them like you put them on high expectation, I mean just because they through to round 16 doesn't mean they're going to beat everyone or any team who are in round 16 are all Good teams. At least Indonesia can score goals every game against the giants Iraq & Japan and had a chance to go to round 16, there's a team that better can't score a single goal or got a single point. This Asian cup will be a huge experience for the young Garuda, 17 years after the last time they played in Asian cup, and they play Iraq & Japan, that's an experience

Hilarious how the Iraq vs Vietnam match revealed a lot of traits of the Sweden vs Poland back in Euro 2021. * Iraq has a lot of Swedish footballers (of Iraqi descent). * Vietnam wore red, which was ironically the same jersey Poland wore in their doomed match. * Sweden topped the group that contained the supposed superpower of Europe; Iraq literally did the same with Japan playing the role of Spain. * Many Vietnamese lived in Poland (I am from Czechia and I have seen many Vietnamese Poles arriving to our country for works), hence some of them cheered for Poland against Sweden in Poland's defeat. * Both Sweden and Iraq found late goal at the last minute of extra time. Viktor Claesson and Aymen Hussein can be best friends. Maybe Iraq should wish they don't crash out at the last sixteen like Sweden. At least I don't see it gonna happen soon if Thailand is their next opponent (Iraq has a history of whooping victories over Thailand once they don't play in Thai soil); but if that opponent is Oman, Iraq will have a lot to worry about.

I do not think that Jordan will pose a threat to Iraq. The Jordanian team's style is 3-4-3, which is a purely defensive style that relies on rebounds and set pieces, while Iraq's style is 4-3-3, which is a Spanish style that relies on possession and high pressure. When Iraq decides to have possession and press, they can score, for example scoring 8 goals against Indonesia, Vietnam and Japan When he switches to defense, penetrations become difficult, and this is what we saw in the Japan match. Therefore, I do not see the Jordanian team as a competitor that might cause inconvenience to Iraq, nor does the Uzbekistan team, “Katanic,” either. Because they both have the same defensive style, 3-4-3 I think that the team of Australia - Qatar - Saudi Arabia... These types of teams may be annoying to Iraq, but Iraq is capable of overcoming them. 50% vs 50% Japan - Korea - Iran... These teams are somewhat superior to Iraq by 10% (40% versus 60%), but Iraq is capable of defeating them if it is the one who scores first and switches from attack to defense, as happened in the second half of the match. Japan.

32:40 The main striker for Iraq is Muhannad Ali, not Ayman Hussein. Muhannad is much better than Ayman, as he is faster and more skilled, as well as stronger in the aerials, and more intelligent and collective. If we return to the Indonesia-Japan match, they each played one half. Mohannad Ali played the first half of the Indonesia match and the second half of the Japan match, while Ayman played the second half of the Indonesia match and the first half of the Japan match. In the Indonesia match, Mohannad Ali was the star of the first half In the Japan match, he was the star of the second half when Iraq turned to defense By the way.. Muhannad Ali has not played football since 2021 because he injured his cruciate ligament twice in less than two years, but he is struggling to regain his position.
