Osaka Student Dorm - Globall Village Tsukumodai
HEYO
I lived in Osaka Global Village Tsukumodai Dorm from May until August.
Here is my genereal impression of everyting!
I really had a blast over there, everything was so so perfect!
Even tho we complained a bit about the price and location, since I decided to walk to University and back which is an hour every day. I loved the little bamboo forest, as well as the EXPO park.
If you are staying in this dorm and have any kind of questions feel free to ask me.
If you wish to find a private apartment on your own, the following website is helpful.

Hey Marija, I was wondering if you needed a converter for the outlets in the dorm room. Are the outlets 2 prongs or 3 prongs? Also, will those from North America need converters for their outlets? Thanks for the video

Hey! Outlets are with 2 prongs. US outlets can be used here, just make sure to check your devices because the voltage in Japan is in 100 Volt. Laptops have its own adapters, so that's fine, but hairdryers or smaller devices like that cannot be used if they are made for 220 V. European plugins need adapter/converter. You can get converters on Amazon or I even saw at Daiso. Join Facebook group Osaka Sayonara to get free or cheap devices and stuff from people who were short term in Japan. Good luck!

Hi, I’m a little bit confused. So it is one big room with private rooms in there, am I right ? And for the price that you showed around 200,000 Yen, do you have to pay it all or it’s a shared price ?

Hii mariya... thank you for sharing your experience. I am also planning to join there as a exchange student. Can u please tell how much is the total expense of staying in this dormitory and any other option which is economical amd safe as well if available.

Hello! I’m going to move into the 9-person room in GV this spring. I’m worried that there’s too little washrooms (only 2 based on the layout) for 9 people living in the hostel. What was your experience with managing the usage of the washrooms especially in peak hours such as the morning when students are all getting ready for class?

Nice video :) I have a question about the japanese styled room. Is this room for classes like tea ceremony? :)

Usually it is like that. 🤗 However that room in GV dorm, when I was there, was mainly used for studying and hanging out. It's actually not allowed to have cups inside, only bottles with the lid.

I might be wrong, but this is only for students of Osaka University. Maybe you can find some relevant information on this site: iss-intl.osaka-u.ac.jp/supportoffice/eng/housing/types/

Do you, by any chance, know how fast the internet was?
@risingsun-marijainjapan3659
@risingsun-marijainjapan3659 Жыл бұрын
If I remeber correctly, after doing the internet speed test it was around 20 Mbps. Everyone has their own in the room. Tbh sometimes during the evenings was a bit slow, but generally it was good 😊

Hi! I have a question about how they accept rent payments. Did you have to open a Japanese bank account?
@risingsun-marijainjapan3659
@risingsun-marijainjapan3659 Жыл бұрын
Hey Michela! 🌞 You can either pay in combini, with the bill they give you. There's a Family Mart just in front of the entrance. Or you can also pay via bank transfer. It's useful having the bank account, since at the moment you move out, they will want to return your deposit by bank transfer

This was filmed on my last day in the dorm, by that time everyone moved out or went on summer vacation. Also, I avoided filming residents and staff due to privacy reasons. It's pretty packed during the school year tho
