Just imagine, in 2012 you could say anything you want on KZbin. Imagine, in 2012 there were movies without: Actors by quota, and the correct ratio of straight / gay, women / men (of course, men and women do not exist, there is only a gender that you invent for yourself) as a percentage. It's certainly cool that computing power has jumped ahead. But what is the price for this? What happened to the games? They make AAA shit WITHOUT SOUL on the pipeline, with quotas and microtransactions. The world has not only taken a step towards virtual reality, it has also taken a leap towards Anti-utopia... I have RTX 3080 and I play.... Unreal Tournament 1998, Warcraft 3, Indie games... I tried playing most of the modern AAA games. Boring, I always play for several hours, and then quit playing. We have a realistic Control game, but I would rather enjoy Warcraft 3 than Control....

The quality is beyond Japanese technology, it is indistinguishable from reality, it is not a bizarre mixture of Chinese or Korean that resembles Japan overseas, but the correct Japan, and I am sure most Japanese, including myself, cannot distinguish the difference. It's too much, it's genius.

dont blame everything on the graphics. to make a game look good it needs design and custom level building piece by piece and scene by scene. Most developers just do not want to put the work, they rather use random generated stuff that looks semi convincing to save as much time as possible. the general strategy for all developers is getting as much work done in the shortest period of time as possible. They could create something that looks alot better than this but they dont need to

The imperfections are what makes the whole composition look more realistic. People complain about the stuttering while I love it because it reminds me of uploaded media in which the video compressor wasn't able to do its job right and causes hitches in framerate. I love it.

mid and long range shots are incredible and believable (I live in Japan and, if you'd not told me it was UE5, I'd have sworn some of these shots were real!). Overall impressive scene! As a fellow UE5 artist, here is my constructive criticism: While the wetness helps a lot, the rain itself is terrible. Drops are too big and mostly in front of the camera, like they were composited after. No ripples from the impact. They were also very vertical, while the wind would have them fly diagonally. The wind was too strong, it was distracting. If you are using the Quixel wind system that comes with the Black Alder tree pack, you should increase the noise, otherwise all the elements move at the same time. I'd just cut it to a minimum, especially if you get rid of the rain (but keep the puddles). Last but not least, some camera movements were too artificial and clean. One of the selling points of the UE5 train station by Drago was the handheld movement of the camera. You don't have to do handheld, but you could still create dolly and crane movements you'd be able to do in real life. Or at least with a drone. The shot at 1:18 is VERY fake. You should also keep it nice and sweet, just a few shots (your best ones) and you are good to go! Anyway, cograts again, everything else I didn't mention was amazing!

The textures and scene detail is impressive. There was some micro-stutter. Wind physics and lighting aren't quite there yet. The tree at 1:30 was shaking briskly back and forth despite being heavily sheltered from wind. The lanterns were constantly swaying, many in sync like a pendulum - not independently, and they weren't affected sequentially by wind (as in real physics). There was weird shimmering off the pavement as the camera pulled back at 1:50.

Amazing how far we've come. IMHO though, the asphalt and sidewalk are too reflective. I believe the tarmac and stones are porous and uneven materials, and as such would reflect light much more diffusely than portrayed here (except for the puddles). Everything else is extremely well-done and I would love to explore the environment. Lastly, I'm not sure if it's on my end but the video was very shaky. I had a hard time focusing my eyes on a single object because of this and it's a bit uncomfortable to watch.

Some terrific stuff going on in there, huge number of different camera angles etc, nicely done. Two comments, you likely already know: Firstly you might try increasing the camera frame rate a little to bring down the stuttering on pans, even if you've got it set appropriately subjectively more frames might remove some of the juddering (and I've shot stuff at 24/25p myself and afterward thought: crikey, that's got some judder), and likewise a longer exposure time might make the rain blobs a little more smooth tho generally your motion blur looks fine. You can actually bring a bunch of post tools to bear as well if you'd rather not re-render, like Twixtor which will generate intermediate frames to smooth, and there's a few AI tools now on that list. Overall, a lot of effort and nicely done!

ok - this is FANTASTIC. Please consider making No One Lives Forever 3 with this same level of detail. I think it would be my new favorite game!

It may be just 10 FPS, but honestly I am not even surprised. Hopefully with next-gen GPUs we will be able to run games that looks like this in real-time (at least 30 FPS).. would be really a big step forward.

I think if you reduce the saturation just a little bit, it will bring it closer to reality.
