GUZ! Brian here from Tokyo Record Style! POWERFUL ENTRY! Really loved your energy and delivery and all the cool records you recommended. While I listened to your video, I paused after every entry and went and found the full album on KZbin and added it my database with the goal that I will go and listen to all your recommendation so that I can know you better through your passion for these records! This has been a really rewarding experience actually and I am really happy to make a new friend from Brazil/Portugal! I have a small collection of Brazil records but I am very proud of them and have been listening to them for a looong time. I am a fan of Os Mutantes, Rita Lee, Caetano, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, Jorge Ben, Milton Nascimento, Marcos Valle, Raul Seixas, and Secos & Mulhados to name a few. Maybe like you when you listen to Japanese records, I don't understand the lyrics of Portuguese language but I can get the feeling from the music and really connect. I also saw you on my stream earlier today! Sorry but maybe I didn't get to reply to you fast enough to say thank you online, but I was happy to see you there. Please come online any time and let's have a chat! And of course if you ever come to Japan, let's enjoy some food, drink, and music! I will write again when I listen to your records, It will take some time but I will do my best to report back soon! Thank you again for participating in this thread! I'm really touched and happy to know you more going forward! For now, best from Tokyo! -Brian

My pleasure Brian! yeah I just stopped by to say hello there, sometimes live streams can be frustrating without a big audience... I face that every month on my Portuguese channel lol Nice MPB selection you have, I think I also have something from each one of your Brazilian artists list on my collection except Marcos Valle. I actually don't know who he is 🤔Ahh Raul Seixas and Secos & Molhados are my favorites among them. I'm much more into hard rock and metal but I like and respect many other artists from other genres. Now that I'm thinking about, I could have picked some MPB (or Reggae) for the island question... maybe next year I'll do! By the way, I've been watching many responses to your thread and enjoying each one, even though I know very little about the majority of the picks. That is the sign of how music is powerful and can bound us together on mysterious ways. Take your time Brian, I hope you can find something new and enjoyable from my "recommendations" :)

A 42 minute video!!!!! so you didn't do the Kiss vinyl tag this year??? not less than 30 minutes but less than 1 hour 18 mintues less to long of a video!!! do Japanesse versions count when showing albums say Kiss , Deep Purple ect? or does it have to be actual Japanesse bands?
@GustavoScafuro
@GustavoScafuro 3 күн бұрын
not necessary to be Japanese bands or pressings, but I tried hard to pick something with a Japanese connection :)

There are no rules! You can do anything you like if you want to join - Just make your own rules if you like and change any of the questions if you want, or even consider doing just a few! It's all about sharing passion for music and just using Japan as a nice excuse to do that! Best from Tokyo!

Hi Guz!!! As usual cool video and killer response to this very "unique" tag..... you have a lot of amazing japanese stuff/artists, not bad at all..... had the chance to visit the country around ten years ago?? what a cool place to spend some time. Hope you have the chance to see Tool at Lollapalooza, they're also playing here, but it's way to expensive for your one band. cheers and be well

To visit Japan is on my life wish list, specially Tokyo of course. What city did you visit? Yeah, ticket price is a deal breaker here, too. If it is a band that I never saw live before (Rush, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath or AC/DC) I would try to make an exception!

I struggled with some of these question, but Kitaro is a very good sunrise choice and I love your Bjork answer. That Tool CD is a great design. Really great video!!!

I confess that I didn't have much more Japanese related albums to pick from, so it was a bit of a stretch on some of the answers, just for the sake of being consistent with the theme :) Thanks for your support Brian!

@@GustavoScafuro @EmbryonicRobot! You both made amazing contributions! If I had thought this through a little better I probably would have made different questions, and maybe less weird, but I have to admit, people have been really creative with their responses and I'm finding some really special entries different from typical vinyl tags. People are putting a lot of thought into each answer but I feel like it's making the answers more interesting and engaging. I might try this again next year and if I do, I will maybe ask your help to make better questions! Best from Tokyo to you both!

@@tokyorecordstyle the questions were great in my opinion. They were very inspirational and you gave enough room for improvisation, too. I wish to get more stuff from Japan cause it'll would be nice to try again next year :)
