If he has enough balance in his account then it wouldn't matter how much his salary is. Usually 5L+ for a 10 day Japan trip should be good! If he has just started working and has one year of ITR then attach that and then mention it in cover letter. In case he doesn't have enough balance then you could sponsor his trip by providing sponsorship letter and attaching your bank statement!

That's weird as for our Japan Visa, we had to take stamp of bank. If you can get the stamp then do get it just to be on the safer side! Else do let us know if your process went through without bank statement and we will include this change!

Brother, can you help me clarify this doubt? So, my sister and I are planning to visit Japan in March and we have booked round trip tickets. The issue is with the bank statement. We both work in MNCs as Product Managers and earn a monthly income of 1 lakh rupees each. But we don't maintain much balance in the bank as we invest much of our salary. We can stop investment for now and can make a bank balance of 1.5 lakh each atleast by January (the time when we plan to apply for visa). Is there any cause of concern here? Just needed to check since the bank balance of the past 6 months would be low. But we can show the investment proofs, salary slips, ITR etc. With other investments, I would be able to show atleast 8 lakh rupees and my sister would be able to show 4-5 lakh rupees. For Japan visa, minimum bank balance would depend on number of days in Japan. So if going there for 10 days then average of around 15k/night should come to around 1.5 lakh, given hotels flights etc are already pre paid. On an average around 5 Lakh+ should be good amount to show in your bank balance!

If spouse name is mentioned in each other's passport then no need to attach marriage certificate. In our case it was not the case, so we attached it! Yes Payslip, employment letter should be good enough but try to get NOC cum leave letter (though not mandatory but will make application stronger). Do include ITRs as well. Hope this helps!

Previous visa refusal shouldn't be a big issue as long as you have all the documents & travel itinerary for Japan visa!

It doesn't matter. You will have to submit both old & new passport with your Japan Visa application.

Which city did you apply in? I think in some cities like Mumbai you can apply directly to embassy. What do you think in your application made them give you 5 years

We applied in Delhi. Here we had to apply via VFS. I think now a days to encourage tourism, they are providing long term visa! As, my previous Japan visa was for only my travel duration with single entry. 5 years Japan visa could also be function of Cover letter with itinerary & past travel history. Hope this helps!

Yes, individual applications need to be submitted. But do mention spouse name & details in the cover letter and attach marriage certificate (in case passport doesn't have spouse name).

It should be fine. Just apply with proper documents, cover letter & itinerary and you should get the Japan visa! Do include your appointment letter & NOC from company HR to make your application stronger!
