A video on scalp care from Japanese and Korean brands would be very helpful. More information on scalp care in general is needed. Beautiful hair styling is emphasized in the world but without a healthy scalp, healthy beautiful hair is impossible.

She's talked about Elizevecca shampoo and conditioner in one of her hair videos from a couple years. Dr Jenny Liu recently talked about a hair care balm/heat protectant from La'dor in one of her recent videos and she's also talked about Elizavecca coating protein for hair in another video on k-beauty.

I'm 48 so my skin is pretty dry. I actually use the Gold Bond pure moisturizer that Dr Dre recommends on my face as the last step in my nightly routine. I do use retinol and CeraVe night cream underneath but there is a difference on the nights that I apply the Gold Bond pure and the nights that I don't. Also, I was speaking more generally about my body skin as well. A lot of Eucerin products have urea in them and my skin has been really happy since I started using those products.

I feel the same about coconut oil. I have combination skin and it’s extremely drying even on my oily areas. My skin then makes more oil to compensate. I tried all the natural diy face and body care ages ago. But this passed week I’ve been using only k beauty face washes (double cleansing and all) and my skin has really improved.

Hi Dr. Dray! Thanks very much for the informative video. Have you ever reviewed the Murai Clinical Body Wash for noneal odor? I searched your channel but didn't see it. Curious your opinion on this persimmon & green tea extract body wash which purports to reduce "old-person smell."
@KittenBowl1
@KittenBowl1 8 ай бұрын
I live in Japan (I’m Japanese and I formulate personal care products). I don’t imagine she knows from clinical research perspective as Kakishibu (the active ingredient of persimmon body wash you mentioned) is a traditional Japanese active ingredient which is made in certain ways (it’s actually fermented and goes through multiple processes and is made in traditional way by craftsmen). But Kakishibu is actually a dye which has been used for thousands of years in Japan to dye yarn/fabrics and furniture to reddish brown or dark brown and as-is it has a strong unique odor and it has a very strong color (as it’s used as a dye even to this day). And it’s used traditionally to remove old people’s smell and it’s the powerful concentrated Kaki (persimmon) tannins, that is actually a type of polyphenol (20 times the red wine concentration) that removes the cause of the smell especially in wash off products. It also contains many forms of organic acids that neutralize odor causing alkaline compounds like ammonia and amine…, though it has to be formulated slightly acidic for that to be effective (so this only applies in non-alkaline products). I make traditional soap with odorless Kakishibu and if you have used it it’s astringent than other soap. Great for summer but I just can’t use it in winter as I have dry skin in winter (and eczema). Btw those body wash you buy are medicated products (医薬部外品), meaning it has to be proven to be categorized to work though it’s not in medicine category and not usually cosmetic category (meaning their claims on the label like reduce odors or old people smell have to be supported scientifically by evidence). So it should work. Green tea product you mentioned has green tea extract and it’s used a lot in personal care products in Japan , and in underarm deodorants and antiperspirants. They actually smell like green tea (like fresh cut grass) if the product is odorless and it has antibacterial properties and it is an antioxidant, it’s actually another polyphenol catechin which is an active compound in green tea extract. It’s great for acne and it’s mild (non-drying) yet astringent and used a lot in toners and lotions as well as many facial creams sold in Japan.

That's too bad! That's my favorite moisturizer. Been using it for about a year now. Sometimes people can develop allergies or irritation to things, even after being exposed to it previously. Over the past few years Cerave had reformulated their creams and added more niacinamide on them, as discussed and alleged on reddit and other platforms (there are videos about it here on YT too), theyve also compared the ingredients list from different packaging and niacinamide had pressumably moved up their inci lists. Ive persinally stopped using the Cerave cream because im broke lol it also stings my face and doesnt sit/dry down well on my neck and chest but ive found better prices and experiences when i switched to the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream (also has niacinamide but doesnt sting in my case) and/or Vanicream moisturizing cream (incredibly thick and emmolient), Vanicream also has a facial moisturizer with no Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide for people who are reactive/sensitive to those inhredients, havent tried but found several favorable reviews about them.
@Hemmyii

Might just be the turn to colder weather with less humidity. When my skin barrier is damaged or dry products I usually tolerate sting. May just need to up your moisturizing game. Maybe Vaseline on top or Cicaplast baume. I also love the cetaphil cream more than the cerave for my face.
@KittenBowl1
@KittenBowl1 8 ай бұрын
If a product is burning on you you should immediately stop using it. It’s likely that they either changed the formula and you’re intolerant to using the new formula or you developed allergy to one or more ingredients in the cream. Allergy can happen suddenly especially with natural ingredients, like plant oils or active ingredients (Niacinamide is irritating to many as someone mentioned especially at higher concentration).

I love all the sets and products that Stylevana offers, but I'm pretty mad at them right now. I ordered some products and either they or the shipping company Dealership addressed the package to somewhere in California. I am in Tennessee. I never got my package and they made me fill out some ridiculous form that did not pertain to me, so I just wrote a paragraph and signed it. They said it was necessary to investigate the loss. Well it was clear to see on the tracking. In addition, after they agreed it was my loss, they said they were too busy in their shopping season to reship my products. Why? Everyone else is ordering and getting products shipped. Offered me a cash coupon which I said no. I said NO you are going to refund my method of payment. I am still waiting, but it's only been about 1 1/2 weeks.

I'm dealing with the same thing. My package got lost. I submitted the (very strange) form, and they are investigating. It's been 6 weeks and not a peep. I've never come across such a weird return protocol. Side note - I really needed my sunscreen and didn't have time for the investigation to finish, so I ordered it directly from the manufacturer while I was waiting. Shipping was super quick, much faster than Stylevana usually takes. Maybe it's not as fun as trying Stylevana sets, but it seems a more reliable way to reorder tried and true favorites.

@@MariyaMagija I kept emailing them and griping about that form and I even told them numerous times in the emails that they were the ones that should be investigating and it was not my job to fill out the form when it was easy enough for them to input my tracking number in and see that the package was delivered to an address in Santa Fe Springs, CA and I am in Tennessee all the way across the country. I even called the post office in Santa Fe Springs and they confirmed that it was the shipping company that addressed it wrong! I emailed them this info as well. I emailed them at least 10 times explaining how ridiculous their methods and responses were LOL. I checked the credit card last night and still no refund I will give them one more week and then dispute with the credit card company. By the way, you really should try the new Banana Boat face sunscreen. I was very skeptical in a drugstore sunscreen, but I got it in my eyes and everything and no stinging!! As long as they make this, I will never buy another Korean sunscreen unless it's BOJ directly from the BOJ website!

@@Skirkly Thank you for the recommendation! I buy my BoJ sunscreen directly from them now. It’s so good, but it’s nice to have alternatives.

Me too! Exactly the same situation. I wrote and asked if I could just get it refunded to my original payment method, they didn't respond, thenI wrote and said I would accept the coupon code. Have never gotten it 😡 I will never order from them again!

Sadly I'm still waiting for an order I made with STYLEVANA that I made a month ago! I will not order from them again. I love your videos and I hate to make any negative comments, so sorry. Maybe it is just me... just not worth it when there are so many that I can get from other sources.

Maybe one of the products you ordered wasn't in stock? Before you add something to your cart, check if it says "In Stock: Usually shipped within 24 hours" or "Usually shipped within 30 working days"
