I really like your apartment Layla! Thank you for sharing! It is a good price compared to where I live in the SF Bay Area. Looking forward to your next video 😊
Please make a video on how to use appliances such as the microwave or the washing machine with all the necessary vocabulary and the kanji that's on the buttons. I think it would be helpful for many.

@@BitesizeJapanese1 and the air con/heater controls - most hotels, even in Tokyo don't provide instructions, maybe they don't realise we foreigners can't read kanji! - I got into trouble at an exhibition once because I tried to enter an area full of other people, but a security guard stepped in front and pointed to a sign he was holding (which must have said that it was reserved, or by invitation only, or something). So I had great delight in saying in very clear Japanese - 日本語が読めない。 He was quite taken aback. Not sure whether it my ability so speak Japanese, or my inability to read it!!

this video was so helpful! so much useful vocabulary i already knew but never really hear in context. thank you! i also have a dining table that was cheap (it was a second hand find) and moves a lot, but recently i took a look at the screws and tightened some of them, so now it's alot better! maybe that would also improve your table situation?

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you!!💕 I tightened all of the screws of the table, but it didn't really help😅 It's a cheap table, so しょうがない😅

50000円 ($500 approx.) per month is what we pay in Aomori for a similar apartment so I think that price you mentioned is reasonable. 👍

I want to live in a small house in the countryside in Japan!
Is the video supposed to be only 720p? Your previous videos are 1080p so I wonder if it's just KZbin still rendering the full HD version.

I uploaded it as 720p! I will upload my future videos with 1080p!!

You both need to go to IKEA as soon as you get a chance to and add more useful but small furniture like corner tables and other accessories in my humble opinion. Watching this video made me feel blessed that my two-room, living room and dining room, and bathroom & separate shower/bath apartment here in Yokohama, Japan is rather nice even though the building is very old I've been told. From what I gather you need a vehicle to live out in the countryside of Japan because of the limited buses and taxi services out there. I'm assuming you have a vehicle or not?

Hi! Thank you for the comment! a corner table would be very useful!😂 We have bicycles! but we'd love to have a car someday! maybe within a few years...!!✨

@@BitesizeJapanese1 well I was in the process of studying to get my diver's license here in Japan but with the ever-increasing fuel prices, I decided it's best to stick to public transportation and yes even get a battery-packed bicycle. Plus, things are about to get crazy outside of Japan and if China invades Taiwan after Russia just proved to the world that the United States is no longer in charge I'm thinking things here in Japan and, the rest of the Asia Pacific is going to get worse. So gas prices here in Japan are going to get a very high possibly. Have a nice day on your side of Japan.

This was a really really helpful video for my intermediate level! And the topic was also very interesting. It's cool to see how people in different countries live. Thanks Layla! Question: at 11:03 you said お湯をはって - what verb is that? I can't find any verb はる that means "pour".

Another question: 1:55 I thought that you can only use っぱなし by attaching it to a verb in its i form to mean "keep on ...ing". How does this work here?
@BitesizeJapanese12 жыл бұрын
I am very sorry! The Japanese subtitle was wrong! I should have said 「そうじしたから、開けっぱなし」👍 ごめんね!!!🙏
