In NH, Japanese Beetles are my nemesis. ugh I'm having success with biological controls - Arbico Organics NemaSeek beneficial nematodes that kill the grubs. I was skeptical, but these nematodes actually work.

Where can i get these products? Can i use them in my organic vegetable garden? I have an infestation of grubs. I have removed 100s but can't disturb roots of vegetables. I am finding them on and are roots. Thank you

I wish I could show you the video of my grapes which are inundated with hordes of JB's two days after spraying entire lawn, bushes, berries, trees, veggies, etc. with 3 lbs. of BeetleGone. And that stuff isn't cheap. The damage has been done already so if it kills anything beyond this point its moot.

BeetleGone takes several days to work, and only works on those beetles that have eaten the foliage sprayed with the product. @@TagawaGardens Doesn't seem to be much purpose to something that takes several days to work. By that time the damage is done.

I don't get the idea of flicking them in a soapy water container. . How does getting rid of a small few prevent them in the future???????

Thanks for your question. Some of the methods we mention in the video may deter them (ex. the pesticide Eight, please refer the label for safe use as many pesticides, even "natural" ones can be harmful to beneficial pollinators if not used at the right time) however the best method is to destroy them on a daily basis. Here is a link to our in-store handout about Japanese Beetles and at the bottom of the page is a link to CSU Extension's expanded info on Japanese Beetle www.tagawagardens.com/documents/2021_Japanese_Beetle_July.pdf To prevent in the future, treating for Japanese Beetle grubs in the lawn will help, however since Japanese Beetles can fly over a mile, your neighbors and surrounding parks etc would need to do preventative methods as well.
