How do you know if your tree is a singel or multiple flush pine?

Hi Yurup! Thanks for watching! I don't think there is a clear visible way to see if a pine is single or multi flush. Reading up on the species will help to learn the trees behavior especially of you're trying a different species from what is traditionally used for bonsai. I know Japanese Black Pine and Japanese Red Pine and Pitch Pines are multi-flush whereas Japanese White Pine and Mugo Pine are not. Scots Pine does bud back well but is not genetically multi-flush and should not be decandled. Each variety reacts in its own way and time should be spent learning the growth habit for each tree you decide to train as bonsai. Take your time and enjoy the process!
