I cried with this performance. It was just beautiful, powerful, something that you can't easily explain with banal words. This was something from a whole different planet, something extraordinary. Michelle Zauner is amazing and deserves much more recognition. I still remember her live performance at Primavera Sound Chile, one of the best days of my entire life.

I saw Japanese Breakfast at a pride show in Nashville the day this album came out, and the day we had our offer accepted for our home. I will forever link this song and that time in my life. I get bleary eyed thinking about it even now. Forever one of my favorite bands and this is one of their best songs. Michelle Zauner is amazing and deserves every ounce of success she finds in life.

@@torut65 Thanks for the recommendation, I just listened to it. I liked it but didn't love it. Def much more chill and relaxing than Paprika. For a song that gives me a similar level of hype and joy, check out 'Ogre' by Richard Dawson. It is very very different from the kind of music that Japanese Breakfast makes but the end section of that song is tremendously fun.

This was the performance that introduced me to the band, and same, it disappeared. It was on my Playlist for a while. I have to imagine it was pulled for some legal, copyright, or licensing issue, as there is no way this should have left the platform otherwise.

7 years ago I went to an Alex G show in a rinky dink venue in DC and Jbrek was the opener I had never heard of them and they only had one album out. Michelle is such a fucking powerhouse I was completely taken aback by her raw talent and stage presence. I've been a superfan ever since own all their albums and have seen them live every year they've toured since. One of the best bands and one of the only artists I've ever seen who is consistently better than the recorded version.
