So, celebrity commercials in Japan are a huge thing. In fact, most commercials spend more than most T.V. shows do on an episode. There is kind of a joke about how if you want to get a start in Japanese film, you should start by making commercials.* Many of the commercials on this channel feature some kind of celebrity, since this tends to be good exposure for them. In the very first one, the actor is Takayuki Yamada, and he's been making a name for himself since 2005. Tommy Lee Jones has been doing a series of commercials for years called "Alien Jones." They are about an alien who came to Earth to study humans and take place across different film genres and times, with no real cohesion or running story until recently. You may be able to find some of these by looking up "Tommy Lee Jones Alien Mission," or something to that affect. I would also recommend Arnold Schwarzenegger and Hulk Hogans commercials as well, since they tend to be pretty weird, especially AAAAHNOLDs. Jackie Chan has done a few, in fact he did a commercial for Street Fighter 2, cross dressing as Chun-Li. *The success of Japanese commercials as a product in and of themeselves lead Takashi Murakami to lambast them when the Superflat art movement was at it's height, making a series of "commercials" about Inochi The Alien Schoolboy Robot.

Japan has interesting CMs but their TV shows sucks. Outside of anime, there isn't any dramas, action, or whatever genre that is actually interesting to watch. Even their own people says the same thing.
