Japanese crochet symbol demystified - demo of 6 basic symbols

It seems hard to figure out the Japanese crochet charting with different symbols. Once you know the basics, it is actually much easier to follow than the written patterns. In this video, I showed the 6 basic stitches:
1. chain stitch
2. slip stitch
3. single crochet (US term)
4. half double crochet (US)
5. Double crochet (US)
6. Triple crochet (US)
The UK terms and abbreviations are also listed for your reference. In future videos, we can look at more complicated symbols and stitches.

My only issue with Japanese patterns is that I struggle with the multiples and the number of chain stitches I have to make for the foundation row. Once over with it it is a breeze to stitch it all up
