im still breaking in my iron rangers about a year after initial purchase... they become more and more comfortable each day... i think someone who owns iron rangers that are broke in and comfortable have something really special and should look at the boots with a sense of pride... i would also like to say that our feet have become so accustomed to synthetic cushioned soles and sneakers etc, that not only does the boot need to be broke in, but our feet need to become used to the boot... i went with black harness but love that amber... keep pushing forward and one day those will be the best shoes you own... great boots!!!

Great to hear your story! …Yes, there's is definitely a new world only those who have broken in Red Wing Iron Ranger can reach out lol.

to help break my red wing boots in i would wear them around the house when they were brand new, and i always wear long wool socks

Ah I should've tried wool socks! That must've helped

Hey mate, what size are your iron ranger boots in US? What size do you wear in your sneakers? I noticed lot of creases on your iron rangers towards the of the video. Why is that?
@loneruggedkazuki3 ай бұрын
Hi! My Red Wing Iron Ranger is size 6 D. I don't have a pair of sneakers now but do wear running shoes (Brooks Running) and it's 8.5 in USA. I also wear oxfor shoes (Allen Edmonds) and it's 6.5 E. I hope this helps!

@@loneruggedkazuki8.5 to 6D. That’s a huge difference. Did you pick a size too small? I have never heard of 2.5 sizes down. Is that why your break in was hard? I’m quite surprised to be honest

@@loneruggedkazukido you have any room in the toe box in the IRs?

@@Ironmelranger Yeah I'm surprised my running shoes say 8.5 too lol I heard usually you want to go one size down. No I measured my feet at Red Wing shoe store and 6D fits me well. I think any other size would be too big for me.

Only thing I don't like about Iron Rangers is the thin sole and thin leather. Sent mine to Wyatt and Son to be rebuilt, Iron Logger, and they are great. Nicks Boots are by far the best boots I own.

I'm actually going to try Thursday Boots! but will look into em! Thanks for the rec!

I can see good deals in mrporter for grenson, trickers or red wings, thursday boots are just too expensive as other brands have good deals which puts prices below thursday, in last few months found moc toe blacksmith and iron ranges for ~179-200 usd taxes and shipping included. Black IR, briar slick blacksmith and portage moc toe. Thursday does not have deals and are made as 200-300 shoe, even B grade grant stone is better value found mine below 200usd

Thursday have quite a bit of synthetic materials. Try Grant Stone or Parkhurst instead.

@@ryanpiyo98 I want to try the Thursday boot's Vanguard cuz it's made in America with Horween leather. I am not sure about their other boots tbh
@ryanpiyo984 ай бұрын
@loneruggedkazuki yes made in America, however it's a worse made boot compared to Grant Stone or Parkhurst. If you want to know more about these 2 brands, you can check out the channel Bootlosophy. He has a lot of content on their boots and other boots. He has Thursday boot content as well. Grant Stone and Parkhurst are American brands but made outside of USA. Grant Stone in China, Xiamen Island, but very good quality and construction, QC is one of the best and the factory they use is not your stereotypical chinese factory. The owner lived in China and partnered with this factory for years before creating his own brand. Parkhurst was originally made in USA, but the US factory did not survive during covid and so the owner had to search for a different factory, settling in Spain. He has some recent boots that are made in Portugal due to them having the machinery for stitchdown construction. He also finishes the boots on his own, so maybe the factory only finishes up to the outsole stitching. The heels, sanding and finishing are done by him in his own warehouse. So these are smaller companies but offer better quality boots compared to larger companies like Thursday and Red Wing. So just for your consideration. Happy shopping!
