Yeah. In fact, for your information, that is actually part of the reason why this event was held in the first place. From my understanding, this Bon Odori was originally organized by the Japanese expatriate community in Malaysia (I believe it was the Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur) as a way to introduce Japanese culture to their kids, who never had the chance to experience it and as a way to connect them with their roots. It started in 1977 as a small gathering among themselves before it grew bigger, which attracted the attention of the locals (positively) before they finally decided to invite the local community to join them. It was met with such an overwhelmingly positive support from the local people, to the point that even the local city council offered support, and the Selangor State's Tourism Board even included this festival in the state's tourism calendar. Nowadays, it is collectively organized by the Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur, the Japanese School of Kuala Lumpur, and the Embassy of Japan.

I went there every year for photography, except for 2020 and 2021 because of Covid19. This event consider the biggest Bon Odori outside of Japan. This year, I dont know why, I ended up bought a lot of foods. Lol..
