If you're curious about the history of this festival in Malaysia, I have a little understanding of it. From my understanding, this Bon Odori was originally organized by the Japanese expatriate community in Malaysia in 1977 as a way to introduce Japanese culture to their kids, who never had the chance to experience it and as a way to connect them with their roots. I believe they have some sort of association, organization, or something. It started as a small gathering among themselves before it grew bigger, which attracted the attention of the locals (positively) before they finally decided to invite the local community to join them. It was met with such an overwhelmingly positive support from the local people, to the point that even the local city council offered support, and the Selangor State's Tourism Board even included this festival in the state's tourism calendar. Nowadays, it is collectively organized by the Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur, the Japanese School of Kuala Lumpur, and the Embassy of Japan.

Misaki's yukata is very pretty. Really stands out in the crowd. Misaki is pretty too 😁. It looked very hot there. I wanted to go but I am not good with big crowds. Very nice coverage of your time at the festival 👍
