This is actually one of the only Japanese commercials I've seen that actually makes sense. It doesn't have any weird orange dolls bothering me while I'm trying to eat pasta, it has no alien kids or giant cats, and there are no creepy Uncanny Valley dogs trying to feed me chips and steal my girlfriend. I can get behind this. x3

I don't know all the details, but plays on words with kanji like that used to be a thing for street gangs. A common one was having "yoroshiku" ("pleased to meet you") written with "night", dew", "death" and "suffering" emblazoned on their coats. See Momiji Teruyama from Needless for an example.
