You can hang the candy cane but do not remove the candy cane rapper on the Christmas tree as an ornament. The white of the cane can represent the purity of Jesus Christ and the red stripes are for the blood he shed when he died on the cross.

The first candy sticks were made in 1670 by the choirmaster at Cologne Cathedral in Germany. ... Europeans used candy canes to decorate their Yule trees (trees decorated for the Yule holiday that would eventually become Christmas). Their hook shape made them easy to hang on the branches of a Yule tree. How Did Candy Canes Get Their Shape? | Wonderopolis

My best candy memory for Christmas is the mini Christmas tree my grandmother had on her porch. She would put hallow chocolate candies in wrappers that looked like ornaments, we could eat them off the tree. The other favorite is called old fashioned ribbon and filled candies. The filled ones had fruit flavor gel in the middle. Chocolate cherries were big as well.

Interesting. Strawberry shortcake is very much a summer thing here. That's when the price of strawberries goes down because there are so many of them. As for these candies I get those vanilla drops every year because I am poor and they're only $1. They are really yummy for being so cheap. We put candy canes on the tree and eat them the whole season, though as children we had to wait until Christmas day. The best are the really big Jelly Belly ones that are 2 for $1 at Walmart. They have amazing flavor! I never eat those nougat things but I hate peppermint so I guess that makes sense. Cherry cordials are a guilty pleasure, sixlets are more about the texture than the "chocolate" to me. And of course Reese's is always my go to choice! I bet they cover those and sell them as Easter Eggs in the spring!

I can have chocolate anytime of the year, but if I am being honest, my favorite christmas candy is peppermint candy canes because peppermint taste better during the christmas season. I have a box of candy canes specifically for the tree only, but every 2-3 years have to get new ones cuz some would break from age and storage. The story behind it is hundreds of years ago, young choir children were being noisy when they should be quiet during church mass and one of the church staff gave them the candies that are shaped like a Shepherd’s cane. My favorite Christmas candy is Ferrero Rocher and chocolate orange. Its a solid chocolate shaped like an orange, and you smack it on the table and it breaks into slices like and orange and has a hint of orange flavor mixed in the chocolate.

No finesse?! Lol I guess you’re a connoisseur of chocolates and candy? If it’s so bad here, then why do people still buy what we have here? There is cheap chocolates and expensive chocolates. There is sugar in any candy, of course it’s going to taste sweet! Lol… There are much better tasting chocolates and candies than they were given where it was probably bought at the dollar store or some off brand at Walmart. But you must get out more and see that there’s tons of amazing candies and chocolates. Theres a lot of gourmet chocolates, made locally in different states that aren’t overly sweet. Not just See’s candies, Ghirardelli’s, Lindt, Godiva chocolates. There’s fancy chocolates and candies in gift shops or high end shops. Not all of it is expensive. I’ve traveled abroad several times, and I’ve tasted their candies and chocolates, their just as sweet! Lol But they weren’t disappointed in the candies and chocolates they tasted in this video, but anything thing with sugar is going to be sweet, just like every country on earth. Too bad every time an American watches videos from another country and think life is so much better and more beautiful from just watching a short video and then I see comments from Americans, criticizing and hating things about America or all of America itself, just from watching a short video. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

There are several stories behind candy canes: A candymaker in Indiana wanted to make a candy that would be a witness, so he made the Christmas Candy Cane. ... Thinking that the candy was somewhat plain, the candymaker stained it with red stripes. He used three small stripes to show the stripes of the scourging Jesus received by which we are healed. “Legend has it that the candy cane dates back to 1670 when the choirmaster at the Cologne Cathedral in Germany handed out sugar sticks among his young singers to keep them quiet during the Living Creche ceremony,” Schildhaus says. “In honor of the occasion, he bent the candies into shepherds' crooks.”

The Queen Anne's cordial cherries 🍒, if you buy the dark chocolate ones instead of the milk chocolate, it cuts some of the sweetness and are very good. I've seen some gourmet supermarkets in America in recent years sell ones with organic chocolate too. The "fruit delights" look obviously based off of traditional Turkish delights (Lokum), with an American brand name. Turkish delights are from late 18th century Turkey.
