So So beautiful! I've grown several Japanese Maples in pots and gave a lot of them away to friends who fell in love. I've also moved several into my yard and I love that they stayed small after growing in a pot for several years. This has inspired me to keep it going,....I love this hobby!

Where do You get the Japanese Princess and Beni Hoshi maples ? They are so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
@scarlettsgarden60474 жыл бұрын
No problem. Beni Hoshi, also know as Ruby Stars, is pretty easy to find at nurseries in the Pacific Northwest. Japanese Princess is less common but I saw several available in Oregon (where it was discovered) last Spring when I was visitng nurseries. The larger online nurseries carry both, as well.

It did my heart good to see this gorgeous, beautifully arranged and presented collection,thankyou! What cracked it for me though, was the discretely tidied collection of kids toys which just sneaked into the frame at one point. Just wonderful.

I am in love with your collection. Absolute perfection ❤. Can I ask your zone? I'm in Ireland zone 8-9 and just started this year with a little princess and atropureum. Both are quite young and have them potted and concerned about the cold.

Wow! So healthy looking trees. Very beautiful. Japanese maples is my huge passion, unfortunately I live in North Europe, so... But I do have 3 two years old trees growing in my garden, from the seeds I picked from some trees when I was in Japan 😂 Fingers grossed!

How are you going to manage the "bloodgood", since it will reach up to 20 feet tall? I would like to plant it in ground but I'm afraid it's a bit too much.
@scarlettsgarden60473 жыл бұрын
I’m no expert but it requires root pruning every few growing seasons and regular foliage reduction. This is in the PNW. If you’d like a smaller version check out ‘Shaina’ or ‘Twombly’s Red Sentinel’ for a columnar version.

So many beautiful trees. I've just started collecting JM and I'm currently looking for information about caring for Beni Hoshi. I'm in zone 6 with warm humid summers and would like to place it in full sun. Yours is beautiful. Can you provide some tips about what you are doing to keep your tree so beautiful? TIA

Do you keep your acers in pots when planting them in the ground? I noticed that you have done this for some of your trees.
@highplainsdrifter65773 жыл бұрын
Love your trees! Love the Skinshape too! I have some container JM’s too... so I’m going to ask the question no one really agrees on... when do you prune?
@scarlettsgarden60473 жыл бұрын
I’m still learning. I’ve asked nursery workers, growers and bonsai folks. I discovered you can prune year round, in moderation. When trees are dormant structural pruning is beneficial as you can see the branching. Once trees start waking up, you can identify die back and prune there. Once leafed out you can do aesthetic pruning. The common thing I learned is try not prune more than 30% of the foliage per year. If I need to make a big cut when the tree is awake, I use cut paste to seal it quickly. I hope that helps. I’m always learning more.

beautiful trees. we have always planted in the ground. What climate region are you in? We have several pots and want to start some Japanese Maples in pots but are unsure how to manage as we are in a cooler climate in the Great Lake Region.

Beautiful nice music to Are you willing to share how you care and feed please. Thank you for this video very nice iv 20 but I dont have Japanese princess I will have to look out for one. lovely
@scarlettsgarden60473 жыл бұрын
Sure. Conifers or maples? In ground or in containers? Care and feeding differs greatly. The Japanese Princess cultivar is from Oregon so it’s easier to find if you’re near there.

what is the difference between japni maple leaf and hibiscu actisola
@scarlettsgarden60473 жыл бұрын
I’m no expert but they are in separate order classifications within plant taxonomy. Japanese maples are sapindales and cranberry hibiscus are malvales.
