I've been drinking matcha, using a chasen, for a little more than 2 years now. At 48 years old I've never felt better. I have been diagnosed with depression/anxiety but I can honestly say that many issues, such as motivation, have improved immensely. Even though the medication I've been on for years has stopped working! Also my concentration is returning and I actually follow the same sleep schedule every day. I've lost weight because I feel full but not bloated. There are simply too many benefits to list here but matcha has been a life saver for me in many small but consistent ways. I have drank coffee nearly all my life and for the first time since I was a teenager I've been coffee-free for about 6 months. Not that there's anything wrong with coffee. :-) It's all the stuff I used to put in the coffee that was bad for me. Also, one or two cups of matcha (instead of 1 or 2 POTS of coffee) are enough to sustain me for the entire day. There is no crash - there are no jitters. It just feels so much...cleaner. *disclaimer* Please DO NOT stop your medication if you drink matcha. The tea may be a wonderful little powerhouse but it is NOT a substitute and you will STILL need your medication. Matcha makes life that much better, it's true - but it's not a miracle. It's only miracle-adjacent. :-)

I have it as a part of my ADHD and of my MS multiple sclerosis, so I will learn to drink matcha as a medicine, together/ next to curcuma+black pepper as un antidepressant, against my nervous hot jitters and burny fidgets! ❤❤❤

To me, Matcha happens to be a miracle PERIOD in my life! For years, I NEVER rely on medication! It has nasty behind side effects and can lead to serious health problems down the road with continued consumption!!! I have been raised on herbs and vitamins all my life ever since I was a child I'm now 39 years young and looking like I'm 17!!!! Lol all thanks to eating everything plant based and staying disciplined and determined to maintain and live a clean healthy lifestyle by working out at the gym 3 hours a day 5 days a week!!! ZERO alcoholic beverage consumption no smoking paraphernalia of any kind!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

🤔 hmmmm I'm smoking, drinking and enjoying life 😊 Working a lot with little sleep and having a happy and full life Not exercising in a gym, but riding my bike and scooter, walking with my daughter and as I'm ageing still full with ideas 💡 Since I found Aki's videos 03.2023 about 2 months ago I'm drinking 2-3 times a day matcha and I have to say it's super good for me. Yes definitely having better skin effects too, but highly addictive. When I don't have it straight away after I wake up, I totally feel something missing. The same applies before work, where I need to focus but stay calm, polite and smiley

Loved the video, thank you Aki. I've bought several bags of Matcha to add to my prepping stash. I eat plant-based, whole food, organic, nonGMO, high fiber, low fat, low proten, no sugar, flour or processed foods, and use filtered water. My aim is to prevent cancer recurrence by reducing my co-mobidies, and decreasing my risk cancer risk from 10% to even less. I also exercise, take supplements, such as flax seed, melatonin, vitamin D and a daily multivitamin. Drinking matcha daily is one more healthy habit to add to my routine. Thank you or sharing Aki. I especially like the idea of drinking matcha out in nature. As usual, your videos always inspire me to change my life for the better.

Matcha is amazing. Regarding the muscle growth, green tea as well as cacao are the two most potent sources of epicatechin. Epicatechin is a myostatin inhibitor. Myostatin is a protein that restricts muscle growth. I also drink matcha daily and it's a game changer!

Hi Aki, i am a French expat currently living in Croatia. 10 years ago, I was living in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo. One day, I had the opportunity to attend a tea ceremony given by a Japanese lady at her place in Kinshasa. Try to picture the scene: an African city, the hot climate, the Congo river nearby, the mango trees around… she lived in a modern condo, with rather high standards. I didn’t know her. I only saw her ads in a newsletter for expat ladies, offering to attend to a traditional tea ceremony. When entering her apartment, I was entering a new world, like traveling in Japan: she was wearing a kimono, a tea ceremony space had been set up in a part of her living room, with tatami floor. She conducted the ceremony and provided all explanation about how guests usually move and behave in the tea house. I enjoyed so much the whole experience! I was projected in Japan, in a relaxing and meditative atmosphere, far from the business (and sometimes craziness !) of the surrounding city….. Nowadays I started drinking matcha after having been inspired by your videos. I have my simple, not so much codified and inexpert ritual but I enjoy it a great deal. Since Kinshasa, I became the mother of 3 daughters (btw: I was expecting my 1st daughter when discovering the tea ceremony back in Congo…). Today I had matcha with my 6 year old. I told her about the tea ceremony and memories of my kinshasa experience. And then she asked me this question I would like to ask you today as I don’t have the answer : do children do/participate to tea ceremonies ? I would love to know about this topic. Thank you, Aki, for your positive, informative and genuine videos! Greetings from Zagreb
@SamuraiMatcha2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the great message! I'll answer the question.It's rare for children to practice the tea ceremony. However, I've seen some children practicing it from when they were very young. For example, I used to participate the class that has 10 years old girl. Also my teacher started practicing it since she was 3 years old:)

Thank you! I will pass your answer to my daughter ❤. Your teacher was almost « born » into matcha 😊 ! This is great when one can learn at such young age that they even don’t realize they are acquiring a unique set of skills and know-how. My regards to her and of course to you. Fall colors are spreading over here and I am sure you have a wonderful autumn scenery around you as well. Have a great day (evening for you probably 😂)

And a funny fact: I found in a recycling center close to my place a small serving dish for olives in perfect condition: it is like a bowl with a toothpicks holder in the middle to pick up the olives. It turns to be a perfect holder for my matcha whisk! The middle part of the whisk fits into the toothpicks holder (but I don’t fill the bowl with olives!) 😊 I like the idea of recycling this object for another purpose

I've been drinking Matcha every morning (sometimes 2 or 3 x a day) for many years. I love it the natural way but for daily drinking I prefer to add soy milk and a dash or two of maple syrup. I don't think I could live without it at this point! Also, not sure if its the Matcha only, but I haven't been sick in over 5 years (also a vegan and exercise daily which helps). There are several big Japanese supermarkets in Geneva and Lausanne with a big selection, as well as organic (Bio) varieties, which are preferable to me. I'm convinced of it's tremendous health benefits!

Matcha is also high in antioxidants. Oxidative stress causes our cells to age more quickly and cause the telomeres on our dna to unwind. (Think of telomeres like aglets on a shoelace) antioxidants relieve oxidative stress, and can help you age more gracefully. Matcha is great 👍

Interesting. I did hardcore muscle training for a year straight. During that time, my only source of caffeine was one matcha per day. At times, I felt I was making such rapid strength progress that it should not be possible for a person who is natural (aka: not on steroids.) I have since stopped drinking as much of it, and it has been tougher at the gym lately, even though I am still training. I will now go back to drinking it every day.

Thank you for such good videos! I enjoyed your matcha challenge, especially the scientific research you shared. Is matcha consumed at any hour of the day? Wondering about keeping someone up at night from the caffeine. Maybe the caffeine is different enough that it doesn't prevent sleep. What do you think? 🙂

I'd probably avoid taking a strong matcha past 2-3pm. Mind you, I did take matcha at about 5+pm a few times. Was nowhere near as bad as having coffee 😄

Although I don't really like matcha and I don't know much about Japanese teas, I'm a huge fan of Chinese teas. I used to drink them every day, prepared traditionally. I also noticed that my skin was in great shape back then, despite being very tired and being in a polluted area. I also noticed the intestinal effects, haha. A few years ago, though, i got some kind of stomach illness that made me very sick for a few days. Ever since then, i haven't been able to drink tea as much without feeling sick. I'm not sure why but it happens but i really miss being able to casually drink tea without counting to make sure I haven't had too much lol. It really does make your body feel better.
