•NARUTO SPOILER• That moment when Susanoo cut off the dragon’s heads. Did it remind anyone else of Itachi cutting off all of the snake heads from Orochimaru’s snake form? To seal Orochimaru, Itachi also used the Totsuka blade.

The fight was definitely based on this. Also Black Zetsu says that the totsuka blade seals you into an "eternal drunkenness" much like the dragon at the beginning of the fight. Also, the sword that Susanoo pulls from it and gifts to Amaterasu is called the sword of Kusanagi... the name of Sasuke's sword.

@@mrzetsu4893 Agree with Jinx. It's not a big deal to use your own mythology in a creation of a story. It's even less impressive when you already saw some older anime that already have used all of that. I've always liked the stories of myths about gods and goddesses around the world. It's so fascinating to learn that our world was created by these beings with human like personalities. Imagine all that drama just to explain the origins of a place or an event, like how winter started: Amaterasu got depressed and locked herself in a cave, taking all the warmth and the light in the world with her. Fortunately, she had god friends to cheer her up and helped her realize how valuable she really is. And all that took her was to see her own reflection through a mirror. I wished Amaterasu tried to understand his brother Tsukuyomi first. He just acted out of reflex upon seeing something so nasty. But then, if she had not banished him, there wouldn't be a beautiful moon in the evening sky and there wouldn't be different kinds of vegetables growing from the earth. 😅 Also, I wonder who are the descendants of Susanoo in modern Japan.

They skipped Kagutsuchi beyond killing his mom with his fiery birth. His father Izanagi, in his grief, beheaded Kagu-tsuchi with his sword, Ame no Ohabari, and cut his body into eight pieces, which became eight volcanoes. Kagutsuchi’s corpse created numerous deities, which typically includes Watatsumi, Kuraokami, Takemikazuchi, Futsunushi, Amatsumikaboshi, and Ōyamatsumi. Watatsumi and Kuraokami are Dragon Gods, and Ama-tsu-mika-boshi ("Dread Star of Heaven", "August Star of Heaven"), is a malevolent Shinto god. (sometimes considered a Devil Figure)

I learned in one of my history classes that the one sacred rule that all Japanese abided by was to never overthrow the Emperor. Sure, you could make him your puppet, as with the Shoguns, but you must *NEVER* him. For, as direct descendants of Amaterasu, overthrowing the Emperor would be considered an affront to the entire Japanese pantheon. The crazy thing is, if this rule was indeed followed throughout the whole of Japanese civilization, then that means the same family has been "ruling" Japan for at least a thousand years.
