I'm facing the same problem. Grew up from a devout Buddhist family, I just became Christian recently and I have to hide the fact that I'm attending church every Sunday. Now our traditional holiday is coming and I don't want to participate in ancestor worship anymore. I always pray the Lord to give me a chance to spread the Gospels to my family.

God understands. There is a story in Old Testament of a foreign soldier that has lepersy and goes to Samuel for healing and is healed and he swears to serve God, but asks to be forgiven when he has to bend his knee (to a idol) when in service to his king. Pray for guidance and Jesus will provide 🙏. Maybe God saved you for just such a moment. You have no idea the things He can accomplish through your willing heart ❤😊

Hey friend, I was going through the exact same problem as you. Growing up Vietnamese, ancestor worship was a given, you couldn't question it. But when I told my dad that my faith in Jesus meant I couldn't honour our ancestors through worshiping them, he lost it. It was hard friend. I cannot sugarcoat it or make it sound less as bad than it actually was. Staying faithful to Jesus while being persecuted for not worshiping ancestors during those death anniversaries (I'm assuming you're referring to these) were major painful trials. And yet, through the sheer power of the Holy Spirit, my dad has accepted my faith (though he doesn't like it) and no longer makes me participate in ancestor worship. I learned many things through that hardship, but I pray though, that it may not be so hard for you, and that your family's hearts would be softened towards Jesus. May the Lord encourage you and enable you to be faithful to Him as He is to you, and that when you are faced with the opportunity to confess Jesus in front of your family, may the Lord fill you with His peace as His Spirit speaks through you (Matthew 10:19-20). You may be wrestling with the thought of having to be open about your faith in Jesus with your family and not worshiping ancestors. God will help you through. He is patient. He is kind, and He will transform you. God bless you richly. May He save your family.

I spent 6 months in Japan last year, preaching the gospel. He is absolutely correct about the air "feeling heavier" in Japan. That's exactly how I felt, spiritually. But I also believe, just like him, that the Japanese have a unique (the Japanese) way of being Christian. I have no doubt some of the most devout believers will, in the end and today, come from Japan - precisely because of the challenges that they meet - daily. You only truly grow outside your own comfort zone. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." Proverbs 3:5, KJV

As a Christian who is married to a Japanese woman who is the only Christian in her family and as someone who has spent a significant amount of time in Japan, I can 100% confirm what this guy is saying about the air in Japan being heavier and having a real spiritual influence on you when you're there. It's like you start forgetting about God while you're there... it's like, spiritual amnesia. It's difficult to even be a Christian tourist and visitor to Japan and not feel your faith is somehow... diminished while you're there... It's very subtle. It's not openly demonic (although you recognize that's what it is...), but it's still a very real kind of oppression. I pray for revival to come to Japan and especially to my wife's family.

I don't mean to be crass, but I have to ask, just out of curiosity. I visited Japan for about five days. We went from Tokyo airport to Hirosaki and then back to Tokyo for a day or two. But he whole time I was there, this strange smell was absolutely everywhere. On the streets, at the airport, in the homes, in Hirosaki, in the Tokyo castle... really, everywhere. Was it seaweed, or was it green tea and ginger... I really cannot tell. Does anybody else notice this? Anyway... as a christian, I at least saw a church both in Hirosaki, and in Tokyo as well, and I took note of them. They were not very big, but you could find them. They were relatively new, but the design was very simple.. almost dull. But not really. Just simple, but you could recognize the cross in their design.

Thank you for sharing your experiences and I'm so sorry to hear about the situation in Thailand and Australia. I have spent some time in Thailand and understand what you shared. It's so sad to hear about what is happening in Australia. I was born and raised in the West and one of my high school dreams was to visit "the land down under". Unfortunately, there's been about 40 years of separation between that dream and today but I do my best to try and be informed about Australia as best as I can and I've read articles or watched KZbin video accounts of some of the things that are happening which might very well connect with what you expressed. Sadly, the spiritual war is absolutely real, has metastasized all over the West, and is becoming more overt, visceral, up close and personal personal, and confrontational by the day. That said, when I read what is happening to our brothers and sisters in Christ in countries like Nigeria, Egypt, and Syria, I am reminded of the trials and tribulations of the first Christians, and/or Jewish Christians, in Israel and Rome and thank God for His daily mercies, grace, and presence in our lives and pray that our brothers and sisters from those countries to Australia, Thaliand, and others around the world will be all the more enveloped in it.

He is spot on about an "atmosphere" to places - there are places in the US where you can feel the oppression as you fly or drive in. Dr. Michael Heiser taught that there is a geopolitical aspect to spiritual warfare - that certain places are the earthly dominion of spiritual forces (small "g" gods, if you will,) and part of the mission of the Gospel is to go in and preach freedom in those places - letting the people that live there know that they are no longer subject to those spiritual forces and are free to connect with the creator, capital "G" God.

I have to say I've had the opposite experience of most people. I came to Japan in early 2022 with my wife and two small children and have been living in a remote region in Hokkaido ever since. Long story short, we were guided here spiritually. We had no former attachment or relation to this place. I have no job here. After arriving we found a spiritual community through some contacts we made here. It's not a church or something Christian in an external sense, but deeply esoteric. The spiritual experiences of both myself and my wife have been so profound and I'm actually very surprised when reading all the other comments! The air is not heavy here where we are. It is a remarkable place. Last year I bought my first Bible ever and have been studying it on my own. I have never owned or even thought about owning a Bible in my 40+ years of existence and now I've been in deep study of Luke's and John's Gospel. Just this past year my wife started saying the Lord's Prayer every night with our little boys, and last week they start reciting it on their own before bed, and we do it together as a family every night! They are so happy here, and our 6 year old is very curious about God. 😅 We aren't the only ones. We know other families here, one with a remarkable now-9 year old daughter who when she was 2 or 3 would speak to God. I had never previously been a Christian. Neither were my parents. My previous life was with the military and the RCMP (federal police) in Canada. Most outsiders don't realize this but Canada has been leading the way in suppression of everything Christianity. Almost 40 churches have been burned across the country in the last few years and there was literally a book burning last year, mostly unknown outside of Canada.

2 things to say about new Christians in Japan ( as an American who has only seen videos about them) 1. As a shy person I admire them immensely, I know they have a collective culture and the majority is not yet Christian. So they are very noble in living out the great commission. And 2. They have a wonderful opportunity to learn unhindered by years of false teaching and misconceptions like we have in the west, the true gospel; Faith alone in Christ’s sacrifice to obtain righteousness and confession that you were born into having a sinful nature, like seen in psalm 51:5 -We are saved! No nonsense about denominations…No misconceptions that have been passed around for generations, to unlearn. I pray it goes as such for them. Pure gospel and gospel only ( as the main focus) for all Christians during the harvest and particularly in Japan! 🙏😌

The air feeling heavier is the authority of the principality under whose authority Japan rests and the influence of the demons who are worshipped as gods at the many shrines. They keep a suppresive influence over the people. That said the Japanese are such a kind and noble people that I imagine being salt and light is more difficult to notice because people in Japan tend to be so polite and kind. I think the key is to show our light by putting yourself out there for people who Japanese tend to ignore. Help when the common man won't. Don't just walk by.

I felt such an anointing when this pastor talked!! I been in Japan, in Vietnam, in Thailand and I work in missions in Burma/Myanmar where I see Japan, secular Japanese and the government of Japan sponsoring and donate funds for wells ,medical equipment and other to very much needed services. I saw Japanese men living in hotels in Yangon because their fathers had been killed there during the end of world war 2. Many Japanese are coming to Burma yearly. But I must admit that it is very difficult to have a Buddhist accept Jesus as their Lord. I have seen and prayed with several Buddhists to accept Jesus as their Lord, only to be told right after the prayer that they also love the “Buddha. “The polytheistic system of Hinduism where Buddhism has its roots makes it difficult for a Buddhist to understand the supremacy of Jesus alone. The more gods the better! Look atAs in each of these buddhistic countries has its own flavor, so to speak. Even Adoniram Judson, the missionary to Burma in the early 1800’s had this issue with Burmese coming and listening to the gospel, loving it and attending faithfully some of the informal chats about the Lord Jesus, but never ever, to Adoniram Judson’s knowledge became Christians. Right now this issue is also presented to me… oh many times I cried hot tears over their steadfast refusal ,even so they are so attracted to the Christians. I could go on, as my heart is so full of wanting them to receive HIM who is everything to me. I have had a godly anger at the Swe Dagon Pagoda , with its huge gold covered stupa glistening over Yangon! How it is deceiving millions of souls ,all being blind to the truth and seduced by glitter of gold…all these souls, lost! Help us Jesus !

My wife comes from Buddhist background. Her parents and her became Christian but still revered B and went to Temples. My mother-in-law a few months before she died, I finally convinced her to get rid of all the idols. The same with my wife, but months later, she returned to her old habits due to relatives and co-workers pressure. The demons behind B are very strong but Jesus Christ is stronger. I also noticed that Thai are very crafty and they will manipulate Christians to do something that may look harmless but it is very demonic. I feel like I live in Pergamum. Let's not forget, I constantly in spiritual warfare with the B principalities. Sometimes, the battles are fierce. There is verse in the song "One Night in Bangkok" that's really accurate. I couldn't believe that the song writer who is secular hit the nail on the head.

Your mission is not to convince anyone to accept Jesus. Your mission is only to spread his message and preach the gospel, the Holy Spirit will do the rest and if they still reject him, that's on them

Amen, I’m also from SA. Remarriage while your first spouse is still alive is adultery and one must repent from it. Either remain single or reconcile. Be careful not to use God's Name in vain, Holy ****, Jesus Christ, jeez/sheesh, OMG, oml are also blasphemous uses of God's Name! Exodus 20:7 forbids it. Lord Jesus Christ is coming back everyone, please don’t worship celebrities and entertainment, focus on Him alone. I promise there’s more to life than money, partying, homosexuality and music. Hell is real, repent from sinning confess your sins and ask God to forgive you, I know He will if you’re sincere. Hell is very hot, people please repent! In the mighty name of Lord Jesus Christ, Amen 🙏💪✝️💜❤️✝️! Idolatry such as, Islam, Catholicism, Sangomaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Racism, Santa Clausism, Confucianism, New Age, Science, Evolution, halloweenism, Harry Potterism, Politics, Donald Trumpism, Easter Bunnyism and other religions/faiths that are outside Biblical Christianity lead to hell! Don’t believe them, believe the Almighty God the Father of Lord Jesus Christ, who begot Him. Our Creator, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is mighty, He doesn’t need a woman to beget a son, He is God. I choose to put my faith in a God who can do anything and everything, a God who has unlimited and infinite power to beget! So, it’s time to confess that Lord Jesus Christ is the Lord and to believe that He died and rose from the grave after three days and you shall be saved if you only obey Him by praying, worshipping, praising, reading the Bible and living holy and righteously according to the Bible. You have to endure until the end, carry your cross daily and build your relationship with God by following Lord Jesus daily until the end. You must never renounce your faith in The Lord Jesus Christ, there’s hell awaiting those who reject/deny Lord Jesus Christ and those who continue living sinfully, even the Christians who don’t want to repent will face the same fate, so please repent beloved people, in Lord Jesus Christ’s mighty and precious Name, Amen.

To be honest I’ve always sensed a spiritual oppression over Japan, as confirmed by this video. Praying over the Japanese that God reaches them with His Son Jesus Christ 🙏🇯🇵

@@neveronhereXD it is the principality over Japan. God instructed angels to be caretakers of mankind after God had forced mankind to spread over the earth, following the Tower of Babel incident. But the angels rebelled and wanted worship for themselves. This is how all the pagan gods originated, and how the pagan religions started. These now demons have tricked humans into believing they are worshipping ancestors, when in fact they are worshipping demons! This is why God forbids us to speak to the dead.

Not just Japan, China even, or any country that still practices polytheism and ancestor worship where such beliefs are heavily ingrained into the social structure is very difficult to say them away from that and it will take time.

Exactly my thinking, I think Asians in general would be so devoted to serving our Lord, that’s why Satan is trying to confuse them with worshipping Idols etc. he’s afraid of how strong they will become for God as warriors. May God bless them and send this insightful man strength

I personally know a few American ministers that preached the gospel in Japan. My Uncle went to South Korea first but evacuated to Japan during the war and preached in Japan. We don't have a American gospel. Other Christian churches may. The word of God that is not added to or taken away from is the true gospel. It is like water. It rings the same world over. I know many people who have traveled to many places and they find the gospel of God's pure word the same. I have been to other churches as a visitor. I feel the difference immediately. I have met some Japanese ministers who visited America and heard them preach. They have a strong unshakable faith. Their hearts were the good soil and the seed of the gospel thrives in them.

I’ve lived in Japan for 40 years. And lived in exile in the family. Speak when only spoken to. Otherwise mostly ignored. They didn’t like me I think because I was young and a wild card. Though I wasn’t the postcard Christian. I knew I couldn’t have those in our house. Problem ? Shrines is one form of “ other gods” but how I lived was just as damning. But for them that I wouldn’t receive their religion. I will always be the outsider and the foreigner. Gaijin and gaikokujin. I pray we can win even more to Jesus .

A minister named Henry Gruver that came to prayer walk the streets of Japan. He has many encounters spiritually with strongholds of spirits. I believe his book is called "Prayer Walking by Henry Gruver." Please read. I met him at church he came to in Adrian Michigan USA shortly before he went to the Lord. Many insights in that book about strongholds. Prayer breaks many of them. God is able and willing! Ask!

One man had a vision of Jesus and the Holy Spirit convicted many. But is was hard going for the local Christians and I admire you for standing strong in the spiritual darkness ❤🙏

Amen, I definitely have a heart for the nation of Japan and its people. I’m currently trying to learn the language after years of putting that nudge aside. I’m praying for some sort of revival and knowledge of Christ in that region. To truly know Him and His sacrifice so that we may be one with the Father as Jesus is. That they may come to believe in Christ finished work on the cross and His resurrection. To then know peace and to be ready for His soon return.

1:40 I agree and think that’s an issue that missionary work tends to work in error. The goal isn’t political power or cultural replacement, it’s changed lives and unbinding ties that harm others. It’s setting others free. It’s uniting people and yielding forgiveness. It’s not westernization nor Americanization of Japan; nor any other culture for that matter.

When I hear him saying this about Japan, I can’t even imagine the spiritual atmosphere in my country Cambodia. Altars of all sorts of deities are everywhere: in people houses, in the streets, in temples, everywhere. People over there worship Buddha + deities + their ancestors + some even go to fortune tellers or witches to help them get what they want. Which is considered as normal. I feel like there has never been a spiritual awakening in Cambodia.
@-zn6du4 күн бұрын
This is similar to Taiwan. I became a Christian as an Australian married to a Taiwanese man. I often remark on the atmosphere of particularly east asian countries; their culture/history and spiritual beliefs are so inextricably tied it’s almost impossible to get them to be able to forsake it for Christ. They can’t see their rich cultural heritage for what it is - paganism. Satan has been clever to make people align their entire identities and national pride with the worship of demons. This is a very difficult problem and it has bound these peoples in spiritual darkness. Pray over the temples which are strongholds of elemental spiritual forces, that they may be broken down and replaced with temples of the Lord. I try and do this when I see the high places burning incense everywhere in Taiwan.

I love Japan, I have been there 3 times. The last time was December 2023. The intensity of spiritual oppression over the country was so heightened that it made the trip there extremely uncomfortable to the point that I was glad to come home. I had to recover at home, I felt I had been in a war zone. Please don't let Americanized Christianity take over, it's a defiled gospel. Do it your way, Be the nail that sticks up!!! Love you all there ♥

1:43 THIS. Totally agree. there's a better way of being Christian. And we can look to the japanese for this. In some aspects of the culture, they have a profound understanding of humility and poverty and how to appreciate beauty from such things. The most obvious way to see God is in nature. They have wonderful taste in appreciating nature in its natural state.

Just want to know if the Japanese have any ancient "links" to the Creator, before the emergence of Buddhist or Shinto in Japan. There has been a discovery in China that links Chinese history to a Creator "Shang-Di" that has similar characteristics of the God of the Bible. Much of this was discovered through the Chinese unique alphabet that is commonly used as compound words to make a meaning for things like "a man", "garden", "sin" and "flood".
