I live in Japan. Congrats Malaysia is the first country in South East Asia to have Tsutaya bookstore! Just to share, my recent visit to a new Tsutaya bookstore at Nagoya Noritake. Inside the main hall has a huge bookshelf at the middle of stairs. The mirror on the ceiling itself created a reflection effect, looks like a perfect symmetrical art. Hence recently it gone viral in many social media. Overall, Tsutaya bookstore is a good place to spend some time there reading new books , admiring the interior and discover new stuff at their stationery/gift section.
I went to Tsutsya for the first time. Bought 2 books. Got the free ecobag. Got home and quickly read through the first book and found fingerprint marks on some pages of the book !!! I never have this problem with Kinokuniya or anywhere else. Saw anyone can bring books to the cafe area without paying first...meaning they can decide not to buy it...just like a public library. Gooodness! I hope this change and soonest possible

Very nice video on Tsutaya! However I do think Kinokuniya is still the largest bookstore in Malaysia in terms of the number of titles available, and their book ordering service is excellent.

There is a bookstore outside the mall, that only allow customers to sit down if you buy their book. On the other hand you can see the book for free while drinking coffee in tsusaya which is 10x more comfortable. I wonder how they gonna survive now? 😁

1:21 wait is this easter egg for this video? 😂 or that people just random people? It looks very accurate
I hope Tsutaya do not allow customers to read books that are not paid yet, while drinking at the cafe. That would not be a good idea.

I ask the same Question to the Manager , he say you can bring to cafe and read it without have to purchase . I feel surprised
@mihonkenji54232 жыл бұрын
That's a good mid-long term strategy actually!
@Ramy-ql3tr2 жыл бұрын
Not quite a good strategy. Many bookstores tried this, people take advantage of such perks. If drinks spilled on these books, customers may just hide them away. Bookstores are not libraries. They need to make money to sustain.

Kinokuniya also has a small cafe for readers to enjoy books that they purchase while having a bite or drink Is this the case at Tsutaya? Or does Tsutaya allows customers to read books without hvg to purchase? Just curious.
