It takes lots of strength with coordination to carry and run the rickshaw, Miss Mel/Meru, which is also a tool for exercising.

If I recall the construction, the center of balance with passengers is actually above the axle. So unless the road goes up or down too much, you don't have to exert any energy carrying the rickshaw, all of the energy is used to move it, and that's a lot less than one would think due to the large wheels.
