There are so many videos of foreign people's perspective of Japan. It's very nice to have someone who is from Japan's insight on the country and culture. I feel you are very informative, and I learn so much I didn't know. Keep up the good work, and thank you for sharing with us!

I thought the unopened pink one was prettier... simply because it has the potential to become beautiful. I'm more attracted to things that have the potential to be great. Like i will see houses that are run down and wish i had the money to restore them because I can just see how gorgeous their potential is.... And flowers... Closed flowers are lovely to me because I know the eventual beauties they will become... it is anticipation that makes things more exciting and beautiful to me.

First of all I would like to thank you for your time and energy telling us about Japan. I really enjoy your uploads and the way you explain things. Talking about flowers.... I am from the Netherlands and many flowers are being exported from here each year. Here we can give flowers to women for many reasons, but how is it in Japan? Could you give flowers to a woman as a sign of appreciation (for showing you her town)? What kind of flowers can you give? About to blossom or already blossoming? :-)

First of all, you are beautiful. And not only in the obvious way. The way you make each of your fans on KZbin and Facebook feel as though we are all friends is a beautiful thing. I chose the lower right photo. There is a unique sense of beauty in both the beginning and ending of life. The wilting cherry blossom shows the transition of spring in to summer. Very beautiful.

The left picture showed some beautiful flowers, but the right one on the bottom was the most attractive. It was the focus on the flower, the whole thing, from a more aesthetically pleasing angle, even if the flowers were not in blossom.

I think that we would call the 17 letter poems a haiku, or at least that's what we call it in England. We are taught it as a poem that is three lines long, and each line must have a certain number of syllables; there are five syllables in the first and last line and seven syllables in the middle if you write it in English or if you translate it into the Roman/English alphabet. ^^ I am so glad that you post these videos, they are so informative and interesting. (:

I came here to change myself and my looks but you made me believe that even if you've not started to bloom or even if you've withered apart into pieces of your past beauty you are still beautiful, what's shown outside is not necessarily beautiful, not always perfect, but what's before you in the imperfections is beautiful. Dig a bit further, know the meaning behind all the little pieces and find out what is beauty. Thank you for making me a hint of beauty, you made me feel beautiful and you know only a beautiful person can do that. You are beautiful.
@TwitCentury11 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this insight of Japanese sense of beauty. To be honest, I couldn't choose between the two right pictures. First there's beauty that hasn't yet been revealed, and then there's beauty that seems to be fading away and yet somehow is still there. The one on the left though is still beautiful in an "outward beauty" kind of way.

Many Japanese see sakura paintings as meaning, "Life is wonderful yet fleeting at the same time. But life is as such." (WABI SABI=わび.さび) There is such word. "Sakura scattering, fallen sakura petals in the air, if sakura is going to scatter for no one, then let it bloom for the one who loves. "(散る桜・残る桜も散る桜・誰もが散りゆく定めの桜なら・愛する者の為に今は咲こう)

She did try to tell, that some Japanese, not all, are more sensible to something that is not obviously. That might be the problem why it is hard to understand. In my Opinion she did it well. And as she said first, it is an individual feeling. So the point is, she got an own opinion, is open to other, and try to tell her point of view. You never will get a better explain on beauty because beauty is definite based on subjective feeling.

Do you think this is the reason why some bonsai artists try to recreate the look of old trees ? Is suiseki a wide spread artform or even rare for japan ? It sounds so much like that "hidden beauty" aspect you mentioned, looking at mere pebbles and stones and find something astonishing..

Ok, I think I get it. I had to listen to what you were saying several times about the Japanese perception of beauty and how that relates to you as a person. I think what you are describing really goes to the cores of some of the differences between the Western and Eastern sense of beauty. I think I understand what you are saying about your fellow Japanese citizens not thinking you're pretty because you talk too much, but to the Western work we love a woman to speaks and acts intelligently. I for one really look at a woman's inner beauty; the sparkle in her soul, how she views life, the joy she brings the everyday life. Now that's a beautiful woman, you seem to have that in spades. (look it up if you don't know what 'in spades' means). Keep up the good work, and I assure you, you're beautiful.

To put it simply, beauty for japanese is uniqueness. They love quirky beauty... If you aren't watching j- dramas you might find the actresses at first not very interesting, but as you watch it again and again, you slowly appreciate the beauty of the actress... It's beauty which is not very overwhelming..

Your English is very good!As for the Japanese sense of beauty most or all Asian cultures want you to look deeper rather than the answer to be obvious. Of course, if you are sensitive or psychic that foils or spoils the plan. Keep your vlogging or youtubing up it will just be more beneficial to you in the future. The world is shrinking. It's a good thing too. Because some of us are more attuned to folks in other countries than we are in our home country. Luck!

komori841-san, this is a very helpful video. Hearing this from a native Japanese, confirms my thoughts. Japanese people are looking for natural, pure, hidden beauty. And this is another thing I love about this country. In my country lots of people are amazed or mesmerized by natural beauties and most of them are trying so so hard to get to them, by making friends with them or trying to get them as a lover. I love that in Japan, people would look for something else, like the personality for ex.
