What is the percentage of your cobalt oxide to water in your thinnest wash for your final over- painting the dark accent leaves ?

Was the small detail brush you used a pen or a brush? It seemed to hold oxides very well and apply evenly.

We use fine point brushes.

Beautiful work!!! The preciseness of your hands and the form is very impressive. When I throw off the hump, I get a lot of s cracks even though I do a lot of compression. Any suggestions???

Please tell me where the cracks occur and the condition of the clay? How do you compress? Because there is little information, we cannot give you accurate advice.

@@SAGA214 Umenose Channel Greetings and thank so much for answering my questions. I am throwing with a no grog stoneware. I generally throw when the clay is wet enough so that I don't have to fight hard to shape it on the wheel but not too wet. I often get asked cracks on bowls, platters plates, and I get a lot of s cracks when I'm throwing goblets off the hump. The scracks appear when the clay is drying. I always cut my pieces off the bat as soon as I'm done throwing. Crack the cracks always appear on the bottom of the piece in the shape of an "s". I generally compress the clay while I am throwing with my sponge, my fingers and also my wooden tool. Thanks again 😊

Thank you. I understand the situation where "s" cracks occur. Often you won't know unless you actually see it, but the compression method is correct. There are two main causes of cracking. It is your technical and clay ingredient. Clays that are commonly sold in Japan are rarely problematic because they have been studied to prevent cracking. However, if you mix the ingredients yourself, you have to read and study the technical books. The technical point of the potter's wheel is to keep the bottom of the hump thinner and not to spend too much time on the work. Also, rapid drying is one of the causes of cracks. Wind and direct sunlight should be avoided. When I was attending a pottery school, most of my classmates suffered from cracks. By the time they graduated, they had all overcome. It is something everyone experiences. I wish you good luck.

How does the glaze not stick to the kiln shelf?
@SAGA2144 жыл бұрын
Because the glaze on the bottom is peeled off.

Can we buy your products? Do you ship to the UK?
@SAGA2144 жыл бұрын
Of course, you can purchase the product, but the current online shopping site cannot. Since we are creating a new site, we plan to be able to ship overseas next January.
