I got lost also by translating yung sinabi ni Hiro mas lalo nung trinaslate na ni Iwa...nagulat din ako iba meaning. I thought, ulam ng filipino has alot of flavors so when paired sa rice na walang lasa, it will give a well balanced taste. Hiro meant to say that Filipino foods are always bagay with rice. Though it can also be eaten without rice, it makes it even tastier when partnered with rice. Kaya sabi nya balance daw kasi Filipino ulams have these distinct taste of salty, sweet, maanghang, or a mix of everything that when you eat it with rice, it balances the flavors and makes you want to eat more. Tama ba Hiro-san? 😁
