Oh my childhood just flashed before my eyes. My Mom had a little neighborhood candy store in the back of our house. We sold candy bars, candy, cookies, chips and drinks. All these were there except a few and I have tried all of them. The Carmel Creams and Payday are my favorites. Thanks guys and thanks to Sheena and Ryan for sending them.

You can get "Kinder Joy" eggs (which have 2 halves...1 w/ the treat and 1 w/ the toy) everywhere in the US, but I think the normal "Kinder Surprise" eggs w/ the plastic capsule inside the whole chocolate egg shell can only be bought at some specialty import shops. I know I've had a few 'real' ones, but can't remember where I got them. Not sure if those were legal, though...maybe the import shop(s) just didn't know.

Those candies brought back so many memories, my grandparents owned a local neighborhood market, called the Eastside Market in Central California... when my grandmother would babysit me and my older brother, we were about 4 and 5 years old, my grandmother worked behind the counter, there was lots of the same candies you tried that she would let us pick out when we were at her store. My moms favorite was Necco’s! It was fun playing out in the back cottage with other kids and also choosing whatever we wanted but my grandmother made sure we ate fruit and not just candy all the time. Great memories! 💖😁

You know those wonderful Sweethearts, the Valentine's sweet chalk candy with the pithy sayings on them? NECCO makes those, too! The look on Satoshi's face of pure disbelief of chewing wax was priceless. Nerd's are yummy! Whatchamacallit is my favorite... I was 7 when they came out. The brown ones are called tootsie rolls. I like the fruit chews much more. Zots fizz on the inside!! They are weird and awesome at the same time! Kinda like pop rocks. I love Boston baked beans as well. Lemonheads have changed the way they are made. I remember them being sour lemon drops rolled is a sour sugary powder. I hated them cause my face would screw up so hard from the sour it would actually made my face muscles hurt so bad. My family would laugh so hard at the faces I would make. Hell they still do.

I remember buying the tiny boxes of Boston baked beans, Lemonheads and jaw busters from the convenience store as a kid. Yes , the small boxes only cost 10 cents when I was little . My favorite was Alexander the Grape . Similar to Lemonheads , but the flavor was a tart grape instead . The rough type of Boston Baked Beans were called "French Burnt Peanuts" . They were better tasting than Boston Baked Beans and sold by other companies , I used to buy the Brach's type that came in a little baggie .

Many of these are childhood memories and movie theater favs. Just need a fat hotdog, bucket of popcorn an a drink! I'll be happy for life 💘 My Necco fav is the brown one (malt choco flav). These are my convince stores next to my grade school, Ewa Beach Elementary School, Hawaii). You know they do sell an entire roll of only this flavor. 😘 Cracker Jacks used to have real toys and trinkets, but now only stickers😞 Boston Baked Beans, I was only exposed to them after graduating tech school and moving to Cali. I found at movie theaters. The wax drinks, I also found near my Elementary School convenient store! Ooh, such memories...😋 Found Payday about 20 years ago. Love it! York peppermint paties is my fav. I get them at the movies (boxed bite sized).😋mmm can't wait to go back to the movies! Yes, Tootsie Pops is my primal memory. Yes, it's tootsie roll inside. Tootsie Rolls were everywhere!😘 Thanks for the memories! 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘 ✌😎👌💞💞💞💞💞

the Andes Mints and Caramel Creams were the best but in our house they were only served to guests/visitors or on special occasions so they were a special treat. the big candy we ate when i was a kid between the ages of like 5-12 yrs was bubble gum. adults used chewing gum(thin sticks) but kids chewed thicker pieces of gum, or gum balls or big slabs of gum. another favorite was the Atomic Fire Ball which was a hard cinnamon flavored ball that got hotter the longer you left it in your mouth. the challenge was to try to leave it in your mouth even when it got super hot.

what a great trip down Memory Lane! I love those caramel creams too, Satoshi! unfortunately, the company that made NECCO Wafers -- New England Confectionery Company -- is not in operation as of my last check. They were purchased back in May by another company, which then sold it in July to a third company, which promptly shut down the candy plant. The new owners have said they will bring back NECCO Wafers, Sweethearts (Valentine's day candy hearts with little sayings on them) , and Canada Mints (wintergreen mints), though!

hahahaha I knew Satoshi-san hate licorice with the Neco wafers...I remember them! Yep, Shinichi's absolutely right, Crackerjacks used to have REAL toys in the boxes (plastic G.I. Joe like things). Also 'junk' food means bad food-unhealthy food for you: candies, chips etc. I think Shinichi was thinking of something called lemon drops, but they were shaped differently, I had the super sour ones as well. I've had "Nerds" ;). Also in most hotels and some motels in America the cleaning service often left an Andes mint for new guests.

I love Necco wafers. They stopped making them but so many people complained they brought them back. Paydays are my favorite candy bar.

I've never had the Boston baked beans nor the Lemonheads or the zotz. My favorite candy is growing up of what you had here in the episode were definitely the Tootsie Roll Fruit Chews. The only time we ever got them was at Halloween and I would always get all of the Fruit Chews and keep them. Satoshi's Expressions made me laugh so much
