I think foreigner like yours need to know the story of Philippines and snack to understand why it's delicious for us...yes we would say it's not delicious as like from other countries...but you know Philippines are under poverty... usually some Filipino didn't have a money to buy real cheese and shrimp..so in that case,they just taste it in snacks..and that's also why Filipino eat snack in rice as main dish.. Filipino doesn't have money to buy foods especially cheese, shrimp or even something more.

I agree to their comment that somewhat the snacks/junkfoods don't have the Southeast asian or Filipino flavors. Indeed, because Filipino tastes already varied, we like both western and asian flavor. And they're actually influenced by foreign flavor. But if you want more authentic taste, you should try Filipino cornicks and mix nuts (DingDong and boy bawang commonly), Cracklings and Mang Juan.
