Thank you! This design of the Koetsuji fence has been around for hundreds of years. However, it is so sophisticated that it does not look out of place even today. I felt that we should preserve this design and the skills to make it.

There is a beautiful balance of 'masculine' and 'feminine' elements in this garden! The squares and rectangles of the paving with right-angled corners and the flowing shapes of the roof tiles and the koetsu-ji gaki! Wonderful harmonious vibe and stunning work!

That's exactly what it is! The contrast between the straight lines of the Kenninji fence and cedar and the curved lines of this Koetsuji fence is really beautiful. They really bring out the best in each other.

Bamboo is exposed to rain and wind, so it will gradually weather. There is no particular protection. I think the key to enjoying this garden is to enjoy the process of weathering. wabisabi
