There is no need to prevent because the queen lays eggs down ward in the newly constructed combs. As the bees hatch out above, the workers backfill the combs with honey. So generally the upper portion is honey and the bottom is the brood. therefore the brood nest is never opened or disturbed . That is my understanding. :)
