I've always been able to pronounce things fairly well (I've studied English, Spanish and German thus far), but as far as grammar goes.. boy that's a different story. To be fair, I don't think you can really learn that to the point where you're essentially fluent without speaking extensively though. I would love to learn Japanese because I'd like to visit someday and hopefully not have to rely on people knowing English. It works in a lot of places but not always and not everywhere (cough France cough).

I actually had the luxury to have a Japanese class in 3RD GRADE!!! Her name was Ms Fisher I think. (Ofc not all of it rubbed off but I’m glad that I wanted to continue learning if anything)

hey i’m not your average commenter on this video i don’t wanna learn japanese just to read anime subtitles, after i went to japan i decided to learn japanese cuz i loved it so much, i dreaded the fact of having to watch an anime because i thought anime was weird but i watched one anyways now i think anime is cool but let me tell you, while watching shows/movies will help you with answering easy japanese questions, you will not understand grammar or how to form a sentence from that, you will need to read books or articles, also it will greatly improve your learning if you can speak with someone who knows the language fluently and can help you

I can not speak as fluent as Japanese but I can understand 80%or more about what is the topic they are talking about even I stop learning Japanese for 20 years now. I used to remember close to 10k Japanese vocabulary. The pronunciation close to Korean and kanji is Chinese so just by reading it you could 40-50% understand what is that mean even you never learnt Japanese’s if you are Chinese. That’s my experience 😂

I can understand Japanese(mostly) unconsciously(the video makes much more sense to me when i didn't try to understand it) although i can't speak Japanese. The moment i try to translate the words i heard into English, it will become really hard. This was the same case when i was learning English(English was my second language and hopefully Japanese will be my third). I know basic English from school and the rest came from watching Let's Plays on KZbin. For the Japanese language, i know it mostly from anime, Japanese movies and KZbin videos spoken in Japanese. What im lacking is the basic to be able to converse in Japanese , unlike English which i receive basic education through school, i don't with Japanese. Well i can say from all of this is be chill about learning new language, don't try to force it and it will naturally come to you(well it did for me but it will be different with everybody) PS: idk why im saying all of this lol PSS: lol someone told me to kms cuz i said that i understand a japanese movie that didn't have any subs from watching anime

Suggestion, while it is informing do not include interview videos in a "Learn basics video", for some people could be motivational but the first 15mins should have been better in another video , like "What did other people did to learn Japanese?" Or something.
