東京の、特にゆりかもめの沿線は、港区という事もあって都会的な美しさが際立っていますね。人工的に演出された都会の美しさに関しては日本一かと思います。こういうものに田舎者は憧れを抱いて東京に来るわけですな。

A very impressive transit system. It is decades more advanced than anything we have here in the UK. The fact that they can increase the number of trains to up to 18 per hour is incredible (one every 3 min 20 seconds in the busiest periods), with the cost of tickets being very low on top.

You seem to know more about it than we Japanese do.😎👍 It may seem new because it is an epoch-making system that we were supposed to hold an exposition and let everyone ride on it, but it is the same basic railroad system that we learned from the UK.

I don't know what's the cost in the UK, but the train is very expensive in Japan compared to France. For instance Tokyo-Osaka costs about 14k yen (100 euros) for a one way ticket in second class Shinkansen, and there is never any discount ticket. The equivalent trip in French TGV would be Paris Lyon and you can easily find it for less than 40€ (5600¥) for a one way ticket in second class. For city trains, Yurikamome is pretty much the most expensive line in Tokyo and as far as I remember it costs about 350 yen (2.5€) just for the trip in this video (PS I CHECKED AND IT'S 388 YEN, with the currently extremely low yen it's still 2.38€). And you can't get a monthly pass for the whole Tokyo, passes only cover one single route (usually from your home to your work) and even for that single route the subscrbtion requires you to make the trip more than 22 days per month to make it worth, else buying single tickets would be cheaper. In Paris, you can buy a monthly pass that covers the whole city, with several versions depending on how large the area you want to be covered (Paris 20 wards or the Ile de France region for instance). Overall train prices in Japan are like 2-3 times those in France, on the other hand as you mention the Japanese service is also much better, so the price-performance isn't that far.

Just found this video and WOW, what an absolutely fantastic train ride through the various districts of Tokyo. The video quality was brilliant, with all of the city lights shown in 'pin point' detail. If I ever travel to Japan, this train ride would definitely be on my bucket list of things to do! ただの移動手段ではなく東京の湾岸エリア観光として利用しても楽しめそうな位な夜景に驚きました通勤で同じ新交通システムの日暮里・舎人ライナーを利用してますが景色が違い過ぎて同じ東京とは思えなかったです(笑)

I would like to mention that the Yurikamome line is driverless, when i went to Japan end of last year I took this line to Odaiba and was impressed with how efficient Japan is in terms of transportation.

In 10 years or so, more and more trains running in Tokyo will be operated automatically, but I hear that few routes are expected to be converted to unmanned operation. Perhaps the Yurikamome will continue to be valuable in the future. If you come to Japan again, please take the Yurikamome 😉.

すぐれたカメラマンになるには、「待つ」という技術が求められるそうで、たとえ何百枚何千枚と撮れる環境が整っていようとも、待つ事が出来ないといい写真は撮れない、そんなような話を聞いたことがあります。そういう意味では、この動画も、まさにしっかり待った事の成果があるんじゃないかなって感じます。"再撮影"との事ですが、撮影技術や機材の進化のみならず、被写体がより良くなるのを待ち、見定めた事を為し得たからこその、この素晴らしい動画の完成に至ったのかと感じました。この動画に感じるのは、「非現実感」です。ゆりかもめから見る風景はこんなにも素晴らしいものだったのかと…まるで、あとから手作業で描き入れていったのではないかと思わせるような、非現実感があります。人工的な建築物と照明であるにもかかわらず、これほど調和が取れてるものなんだなって見入ってしまいました。当然我々は、この動画のように風景を見ることは出来ないわけです。なぜなら視力も人それぞれだし、なによりガラスが手前にある。この動画のように、ガラスがないかのように、ありありと風景を楽しむ事は不可能でしょう。もし、出来るとしたら、窓ガラスに顔と目をくっつけて…あたかも、吉本新喜劇の「奥目の八っちゃん」が奥目で本を読む時のような格好で…といった姿勢なら可能でしょうけど、そんな事やってたら周りの目が気になるｗ　どの1コマを切り取っても絵になる。カーソルを適当に動かして、適当に止めてみる…その絵が本当にそのまま風景写真として成り立つのです。 …これはゆりかもめ及びこの界隈をデザインした方たちに言うべき言葉なのかもしれませんけどね。ただ、私はお台場界隈の都市デザインを認めていないのでｗ（ある場所とある場所の間があまりにも離れすぎていて「町」「街」として成立し得ない）彼らにそれは言いたくないｗ　ただ、彼らが頭に思い描いた都市デザインっていうのはあるいはこういうものだったのかなっていうのはちょっと思います。バランスがいいんですよね。密集してる感じのところもあれば、ばっと開けた感じのところもある。だから飽きない。本当にいいリズム感とでもいうか、それで風景が変化する。ゆりかもめは何度か乗ったことがあり、他にはない車窓風景、まるで遊園地の機関車にでも乗ったかのような感じはとても面白かったという記憶はあるのですが、夜はここまでの風景があったのかと、本当に驚きました。お台場の観覧車も営業終了、解体されていくようで（10月1日現在、すでに始まってるようです）、記録映像という意味でもとても良いものとなったのかなと感じます。

なんと深い考察😊 ありがとうございます！撮影にいつでも行けるわけではないので、条件が整ったタイミングを狙って撮影できることはほぼ皆無なのですが、このゆりかもめの前面展望動画に関しては最初から記録映像として価値を高めることを意識していたので「雲ひとつない快晴」「街のクリスマスイルミネーションが全て揃っている時間帯」「雨が降ったあとで空気がきれい」など様々な条件が全て揃った日を選びました。このようなこだわりを感じ取っていただける方がいらっしゃってとてもうれしいです。魚眼に近い画角で歪みも大きいですし、映るものが全て小さく見えて密度が高い動画というのは独特の世界観ですよね。少し色味を演出していることもあって非現実感を感じやすいのではないかと思います。超広角の風景写真を撮るのが好きなので、その感覚やノウハウをそのまま動画にしています。1コマ1コマを写真感覚で見ていただけるのもうれしいです。役所（主に港湾局？）の都市デザインのセンスはよくわからないところも多いですが、それでも未来の都市デザインを手掛けていく人たちに刺激を与える要素はたくさんあるような気がします。コストを抑えた実用性の高い街に変わっていくだろうことは仕方のないことではありますが、都市博の構想からスタートした歴史と遊園地感を味わえる雰囲気が少しでも多く後世に伝わってくれたらいいなぁと願っています。どうか、この動画が30年後・50年後の未来を創る子供たちに届きますように🙏

画質が凄く良いですね😍 十年前、旅行でお台場へ向かう為に初めてゆりかもめに載った時、(我が家の田舎と違い)汐留のビル群や間に見える東京タワー、海に出てからの東京湾の夜景に「本当に同じ日本か！？」と衝撃を受けた事を鮮明に思い出しました。

画質をお褒めいただけてとってもうれしいです🥰。東京湾の景色はどちらを向いても強い絵があるのが最強ですよね。建築物や港湾施設など、いろんな要素が高密度で詰まっているのが日本の他の地域と圧倒的に違うなぁと思うところです。ごちゃごちゃっとしてる＝日本なのですが、そういう印象にならないのが不思議です😄。

It's like living in the future in Tokyo, the buildings on the right and in the far distance, see those elevators moving through the glass or riding on the outside. It's just so futuristic. This is one of the MANY reasons Tokyo is my favorite city and Japan my favorite nation in the world.

I've seen videos of Yurikamome before but this is the best I've seen so far. The wonderful lights of Tokyo stand out beautifully. Guess the lens was very open, probably F1.8 or something like that. The vignetting in this video is also handled in the edit, but if you know anything about lenses, you would be concerned about vignetting. It is a bit of a happy miscalculation that you mention the aperture value of the lens in your comment. The video of the front view of the Nippori-Toneri Liner is well controlled in the vignette, so please give us your feedback.😉✨

@@JAPANTODAYUNOFFICIAL Oh, the lenses are my passion lol. I've been an amateur photographer for12 years. I use only my DSLR, Sony a7 IV when I take pictures that I put time and effort into. I know the vignetting thing, one of my many lenses is the sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens. It does vignetting, very little though because the camera sensor is a wide angle sensor. Anyway, as you know, vignetting can be fixed afterwards easily, e.g. Lightroom software which I use a lot. Most of my lenses are Japanese, Sigma, Canon etc. That Canon 50mm model is a legend, aperture value F1.0, with this top-notch lens you can take pictures handheld in fairly low light conditions, esp when using a high ISO-value with the camera, I can use like ISO 1600 with no worry about noise when it's almost a night. That good lens is the Canon 50mm. I know that some Chinese company has developed a lens that has an aperture value F0.8, but I don't trust the quality. I trust only the lenses made in Japan & Germany. Thanks for the answer! I don't shoot videos but I love to watch them, esp the ones filmed in Japan because the cities offer so much to see and the countryside is very beautiful. Not quite sure but I think I've seen a video you recommended. Anyways, I promise to re-watch it and leave a comment. Keep up the good work! You have a good camera and good lenses. We would like to see the photos you have taken. Can you tell us about your Instagram account? You can either reply to us here or email us. I too love taking pictures and would be happy to interact with someone with a long career like yours. For video editing, vignetting is not automatically corrected by the lens profile, so I have to adjust it manually. vignetting is very noticeable in HDR videos, so it is very difficult to control. Please add your comments again. I will do my best to post high quality videos as well.

Thank you for this kind of content. In Brazil we have one of the best and clean subway systems of the world, but we don't get even close to the trains in Japan, mainly this that runs across the buildings and city at open air.

この動画を上げてくださり、本当にありがとうございます！　私は鉄道ファンではないですが、ゆりかもめだけは大好きで就寝前にゆりかもめの動画を見ることもあります。しかし、この動画以前に上がっていたものは、画角が狭い、無駄な字幕が出る、などの不満がありました。ただ車窓の美しさだけを映して下さりありがとうございます（夜の東京湾に際立ったビル群の光を社畜の光だと思ってしまうことが私もときどきありますが、これだけの人が生きながらえている証拠として励ましてくれるのがこの電車の魅力だと思います）

I'm from Paris. Never been to Japan, but Tokyo looks so modern compared to Paris. So many huge modern-looking buildings with amazing lighting. (Isn't it expensive to keep all these lights on during the night??) Looks like a futuristic city to me. Here most of our buildings date back to the 19th century lol. Foreigners think it's charming but we really lack modern infrastructure.

100% true. I’m from Germany and I hate our modern cities. They’re all full with concrete and ugly buildings, meanwhile nearly every wealthy country in Asia has these insanely modern buildings and squares, plants everywhere and the lighting is beautiful.. a nice mix of concrete and plants. I really don’t understand how German cities are so ugly, when Germany is one of the wealthiest countries on the planet

This footage was shot two years ago, when the city was dark due to restrictions on going out. Pre-coronavirus Tokyo had unbelievably beautiful lighting at night.

Very good thread. 😊 The city is very bright because so many people live and work in a small area. But it is cramped needless to say. However, it is also Tokyo's style to enjoy it. The place you see in this video is a particularly new city and the embodiment of the ideals of the 90s. Scrap-and-build is always repeated, and the city is always filled with new things. Scrap-and-build is a part of Japanese culture, but this is due to the fact that Japan is prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes. In the past, many important things were lost in wars. I think it is very valuable to be able to preserve old things. Cool things like the Eiffel Tower light-up show are difficult to realize in Japan.

@@JAPANTODAYUNOFFICIAL ありがとうございます。パリは正反対です(草)。有名なオスマン様式の建物は歴史的遺産なので、住民や周囲の人々に危険を及ぼし、取り壊す必要がない限り、取り壊すことはできないと思います。だからパリの中心部には高層ビルがほとんどない。だから、あなたのビデオにあるような高層ビルを建てることができず、より多くの人を収容することができない。だから、高い家賃を払えない人たちがパリ郊外に住むようになり、通勤者の数が増えて、それが都市の力学に及ぼすさまざまな影響を想像することができる。古いものを保存するのは良いことだと思いますが、パリがもっと一極集中でなくなり、近代的なインフラを備えた「活動拠点」が増えればいいのにと思います！
