I have searched and searched for that song "Harambee moto moto harambee" without success. It is a lovely song that captures the mood of the young nation. It sounds serious and sincere. Somebody please help us find it!!! It is not Kakai Kilonnzo and not even Daudi Kabaka.

Ukabila was always there; Kenyatta and Moi exploited it for their own benefit, and Kibaki did it too until the wheels finally came off the wagon in the post-election violence. Only difference is now, you have so much activity, your focus shifts to different people, and not just one person, as it was during Kenyatta or Moi era.

We have to listen to Leonard Mambo Mbotela’s version of the story cynically. His allegations that he was taken from his house at gunpoint have never been corroborated by anybody. The suspicion was that Leonard Mambo Mbotela walked to VOK on his own volition anticipating a favorable job from the Military while believing that Moi’s Government had indeed been toppled. The person to verify the story is Saleh Othman of VOK who had innocently gone to the VOK studio before the coup and before Mambo.

@ 24:22 "I'll be the last to divide Kenyans." A divided Kenya is what enabled Moi to stay in office beyond 1992. He worked those tribal divisions well enough to achieve the end-game, which was winning; so I'll give him his due... hate the game, not the player.

You are partially correct; however tribalism has ALWAYS been rampant from the very moment Kenya became a nation; look at the "inner circles" of Kenyatta, Moi, Kibaki, and the people who held prestigious portfolios in those cabinets, why is it that certain people (usually from said president's tribe were benefiting the most?). When multi-parties were re-introduced, Moi still supporters in almost every ethnic group, that's why he was able to perfectly implement the "divide and conquer" strategy.
@jydaflyest11 жыл бұрын
before you go calling them "rogues", did you ever know that those guys were treated poorly in the military and had no other form of seeking redress? Granted, trying to overthrow the government wasn't exactly their best move, coz they found out that they were all alone after all, but before you go about putting labels on people, at least try find out what they are about.

Why would Moi burn in hell? There were many failures during administration but i do respect the man for his heavy handiness. We can see now, after pluralism, how kenya has become more tribal! Kenya need a man with balls like Moi.
