Goff is our guy win or lose and we should support him, but i will say this if Stafford was still here with this same talent/coaches/management, he would be winning also. Goff deserves plenty of credit, but he didn't do it by himself. Also the Lions next 4 games will define their season, they could easily be at 2-6 assuming they could beat the Seahawks at home because the Cardinals are playing great and that will be a tuff one, and if we go 2-6 the Fans and the Fords will demand change!

What people dont understand is Ben Johnson is testing/experimenting out his different strategy of whether running the ball or passing the ball to see the strength of their offense and defense early on the season so they know which works for later games. Its early on the season. There is a lot of experiment to see what works and what doesnt in games like these where it doesnt matter too much if you dont win. People are blaming the couch and everyone. Calm down

Goff threw for over 300 yards. Lions could have, should have won the game. Tampa kept everything in front of them and hit Lions WRs all day long. Where was James Houston??? In on 1 play and was double teamed. It was the boob who ordered the FG team on the field before Halftime who blew the game. Lions would only have needed a FG for the win. One Pride

Y’know what, even though that was a terrible game for Goff, the fact that other good teams lost in the most embarrassing way, makes me feel a little better. Other teams like the 9ers, Eagles, Cowboys, Rams, and Ravens all had a bad game this week against bad or mediocre teams.

David, it’s undeniable that through two games, Goff has not played well. But we’ve been through this before. No quarterback goes through a season without having stretches of poor play. Even in the last two seasons, when Goff overall played very well, he had rough patches. This season is no different. And as you rightfully pointed out, what Goff has accomplished in three years is better than any Lions quarterback since Bobby Layne. My concern is with poor results in the red zone and the strategy, especially in this Tampa Bay game. 55 passes and 27 runs is not a formula for success. I could understand more throwing if the run was shut down, but the Lions were averaging 5 yards per carry against the Bucs; they should have run the ball more than they did.

Lions fans tend to get hysterical. I remember last season when the hysterics were calling for Aaron Glenn's job. Like the fans who were judging Glenn's performance out of context, the same thing is happening to Goff this season--after TWO games. I get it though. Fans are always looking for blame, and looking at the most obvious scapegoat. After two games, they can't blame Glenn, so Goff it is. To be fair, Goff has performed poorly over both games according to PFF. He had the lowest score last week against LA, and the 2nd lowest score against Tampa. He has to play better, and he will. Lions fans were talking Superbowl before the season, and it was mostly because of the team's explosive offense. So I get some some fans are in shock after two games where the Lions look the furthest thing from a Superbowl contender, and all because of a struggling offense. Goff's two extremely poor late 4th Quarter INTs in both games won't endear him to many fans. The defense bailed him out both games, but the Lions were unable to finish against Tampa. Hendon Hooker? I don't know where this comes from. People are, again, hysterical. Hooker is simply insurance unless and until someone is willing to part with a 1st round pick. He's not nearly ready, but in fairness to Hooker, in just a couple of preseason games, the improvement was appreciable. In that Pittsburgh game you mentioned, Hooker didn't look good when the Lions 2nd and 3rd stringers went against the Steelers starters, but he sure looked a heck of a lot better when the sides were more equal. That is why Sudfeld got cut. Hooker actually WON the backup job. So lets be fair to both Goff and Hooker. They are both Lions QBs and we wish both of them well. Goff is the Lions QB. It is okay to critique player performances after each game. With only a 17 game schedule, each has increased importance as opposed to other team sports. Goff has led the team further than any Lions QB since the 1950s. It might be argued that he has has more of a complete, not just one superstar, than any Lions QB since--kudos to Brad Holmes who stacked the deck around him. The important thing is that Goff is Superbowl worthy, he has proven that. I couldn't care less about any subjective ranking. The time to get hysterical is not after two games, but we may see similar hysterics about Aaron Glenn if Arizona scores 40 points on Sunday.

I remember alot of your previous videos about Goff I just stand on this is how many if not 90% of QBs are treated u get most of the credit for wins and u get most the blame for losses like no one ever says when we call Goff top 5 he has the best o line in football one of the best tight ends and wr in football great running backs and a crazy fast player in Jmo we just say he's top 5 so when he loses or plays bad people get mad like I just think this is what happens with every team Dak,Hurts,Josh Allen,Tua, Lamar, and Herbert all get these same type of treatment when they lose

You know it has to be the reason they lose. It's not the olines fault who allowed 10 hits and more pressures, it's not johnson fault for using the same game plan he used last season when they played and failed to adjust, it's not mcdc fault where he directly cost the team 3 points, it's not the recievers fault for not getting open or understanding coverages which directly caused the 2nd pick. It's all JG fault. We all know these ppl aren't lions fans...they're not. They much rather be correct than actually win and have been waiting for this moment. Where here's the truth about your team from someone who's outside looking it. The lions oline, and recievers will need time to gel. Losing Reynolds and Jackson hurt alot more than yall understand because both guys not only knew the system but had rapport with the team. A simple switch like moving Glas to LG and having zieg at rg can and will cause problems. We all see the oline getting killed by stunts and delayed blitzes, which is a result of not knowing what the guy next to you will do. They didn't really have that problem last season even with the backups because they all played together for years. The receiving room us st brown and a bunch of unproven guys. Yes jamo is talented but he hasn't had enough reps to understand coverages and be on the same page with Goff consistently. That goes to the whole room besides st. Yall easily have the worst receiving core in the division imo. Now all this can and will be fixed and I predict the offense is gonna be a menace by the 2nd half of the season when all the things mentioned above gets ironed out. It's not like yall aren't moving the ball. It's the little details that matter in this offense, and when 1 or more ppl miss those, it can cause a negative play. You ppl blaming jg for everything are overrating tf out of his personnel. He has the worst receiving core in his division and his oline (the best oline in football) was acg the 1st gm and brutal against Tampa. He does have the best backfield in the nfl but that's irreverent if the oline isn't playing up to standard and when johnson decides to go gun the whole gm and 55 times. Alot of these struggles fall on Johnson for simply not adjusting to his personal.

Ben Johnson was testing to see how many passing throw Jared Goff can handle to test out their ability so they know whether to run the ball in the future or throw it. Jared Goff is fine. It is the passing that was pushed on him over and over. And it is ok. This is experimental phase since its begining of the season so they can guage everyone's abilitu accurately.

I think a lot of fans are very much indecisive or wavering. They change anytime they think there is trouble and want something they perceive to be better. But that is why fans are fans and not the leadership of the organization. Because if the majority of fans had their way we would have drafted Tua or Willis or whoever else to replace Goff and neither of those guys are even close to better than him. So I think fans that say that are showing they are very a follow the crowd kind of person rather than stick up for what is actually right or correct
