This was such a great interview. I love hearing Jared talk. I'll be honest, I didn't think I would like this album, but I do. I like it quite a lot.

Rescue Me is the best song on this album to me. I've had depression most my life when I get really down i turn it on and play it over and over and dance and lose myself even if it's just for a little while

Jared, how can you STILL be so surprised that so many people love your music? You are such an incredibly talented songwriter and musician with millions of fans (the ECHELON) around the world! We love you Jared! ECHELON FOR LIFE AND PROUD!!!

I'm just happy that TSTM had changed course with their music, which can be a bit difficult to pull off for most bands. I swear, Jared is a sweetheart, no doubt. "Rescue Me," "Walk on Water," and "Dangerous Night" are still my favorite songs from their last album to this day. You can't deny his calm and well-meaning demeanor. I love how he connects with his fans.

Not many of us think that way. I do NOT care for the 1st album. SEcond one......it's Jared's screeching. Soooo......them getting better after that......it's great. Not every track will be a gem. I'm fine w/ that. I just wish Shannon had completed his solo album of instrumentals.

I definitely have always loved Jared ever since fight club; and he’s such a kind soul. I know deep down he never wants to hurt anyone or do anything promblematic. His new album had a few shitty songs but also a lot of great ones and the premise behind it and what charity work he is doing on top of the publicity is just wonderful. I respect him a lot as a really powerful respectful influential artist.

this guy is amazing. i would love to sit down with him and have a conversation. his brain is fricken INCREDIBLE! i just wanna have an hour to chit chat with the guy lol haven't heard the new album but have liked what i've heard of it so far. everything they do is good. so i can't see it being bad. i can see it being different and that making people not like it as much as the other stuff but we call that growth experimentation and getting out of the comfort zone to experience new shit. give em a break people. good lord. so much negativity over such a positive concept. i just dont get it. i will always be a fan of this band and this guy :D

I adore Shannon, but I'm surprised at how many people say that's their favorite song on the entire album. I feel bad saying it's not even close to my favorite, because I totally want to support and encourage Shannon. Some of the other songs just blow me away though.

My only comment on this is that all music is selective. It speaks to every person differently. IDK if any music can per-say be horrible music unless its just prewritten pretty face disney crap for kids. Other than that, if someone is actually writing it, putting work into it, then that makes it special alone. People are too picky in this day and age with no patience, and I get that. but it hurts the true art we are given to us, everything is "I want this now, and I cant wait." For some, things aren't enough, and thats okay. But this album to me is good, meaningful and only hated because of the change they took. People don't have the dignity to respect that change whether they enjoy it or not. Jared is one of the few "Hollywood" people who actually strive for good in the world, and actually act upon it. You can easily tell who is phony, and while this album does hinder upon Love Lust Faith & Dreams, it is also pure, and well received by at least me. The dude has a million girls at every concert in awe, there's a reason for that. What he and the band make is simply beautiful music in a perilous time.

JS Mithic True art?? Dude, this is bad even by generic pop standards. Put in work? Look at the production credits, Shannon & Tomo were almost not even involved in making the music
@DuffyLONER64
@DuffyLONER64 6 жыл бұрын
JS Mithic, I do agree that music is very subjective and opinionated, and I respect your opinion. Heck, I think One More Light by Linkin Park, despite a lot of other people's opinions, is a really good album. I feel like they made a good change in sound. But I, along with a lot of other people, do have the opinion that this album is bad, and that their change in sound was really poor. I will admit that some of the songs on the album, like Monolith & Walk On Water, are decent, but other than that, the album sounds really produced, like a lot of other stuff on pop radio nowadays, and autotuned. Leto does *not* need autotune; his voice is pretty good (from what I've heard in the past). I understand that bands do evolve and change, but like I said earlier, bands can change in a good way or a bad way. Thirty Seconds To Mars flopped with this record.

TheDuffyGMER64 i xan agree with that partially. I do miss their old stuff that wasnt as produced. But as a member of the Echelon its what rhe music is about to me, with them particularly. 30stm has a soft spot for me, so its hard for me to dislike much that they do. But as Jared said, he's happy if it only makes a few people happy. May not be what you and others agree eith, but as a musician myself, I would want to make mysic that would at least be loved by some, he's had hiscrecord sales, i dont think thats what their going for anymore, based on this interview. And I dont see Jared as a person who would lie about his viewpoints.

The album is so terrible. Most of the songs have nothing to do with “America” at all, it’s just millennial whoop
@jaredsmith6047
@jaredsmith6047 6 жыл бұрын
Mellennials.. you dont mean... the people who will currently reside in "America" for the longest in the future... no way... Lets let the older generations control what we have to put up with after they are dead. That makes sense... the ones who fucked it all up.
@jeffgjokaj6491
@jeffgjokaj6491 6 жыл бұрын
JS Mithic wtf are you talking about. Millennial whoop is all the “oh oh ohs” to make up for lack of interesting lyrics that is so prevalent in modern pop, that’s basically all this album is & that’s all I mean when I say that
@jaredsmith6047
@jaredsmith6047 6 жыл бұрын
Jeff Gjokaj ohh oh ohhs have been in music since the 50's. Dont think the millenials started that. Its always been very prevelant in music, it used to be the standard in the 60's. If thats what youre picky about then you shouldnt even feel like commenting, no one cares about that grumpy opinion. They have had 'ohhs" in their albums since This Is War.
@Therealfakemaxgoldberg

JS Mithic dude, you haven’t heard of millennial whoop? That’s what that’s called lol
@jeffgjokaj6491
@jeffgjokaj6491 6 жыл бұрын
JS Mithic Pls tell me where I said that millennials created that. I said it’s extremely prevalent & cliche with generic pop music. Just google the term, I didn’t make it up. Standard in the 60s?? What are you even saying? Give me a list of at least 10 songs with as much millennial whoop as Walk on Water or Dangerous night, I dare you. My point is it gets very repetitive, it’s in nearly every song on the album. It was used sparingly on This is War, but sounded terrible even on that album

Of course it helps. What I'm saying, as someone who adheres to everything you've listed and is in their mid-forties, is that some facial aging is unavoidable. It's that simple. After forty, fine lines occur -- without exception. I checked out your FB page and even you have aged visibly since your twenties. It is inevitable. Whatever. The fact that his forehead cannot move is fine. I just wish he (and his brother) would cop to it.
