The title "Hero" isn't about a single character in this episode. It portrays all of the ones who sacrificed themselves, erwin, armin, moblit, marlo, the nameless guy at the end of charge, all of them represents the "hero" title. such a crazy episode
@JoeDay-me3gr3 ай бұрын

The parallels between Armin and Erwin are striking, Erwin sacrificed his entire squad to give Levi the opportunity to kill the enemy, while Armin sacrificed himself to ensure the survival of his comrades.
@RandomNorwegianGuy.3 ай бұрын
Yes. But two completly different scenarios that can't be compared in the slightest. Armin and the others inside were not about to be obliterated by machine gun rocks any second. Erwin and the squad had nowhere to run, with probably just minutes left of cover. So they could either try to flee (over open field and no cover, it should be noted) and most likely all be killed of. Or fight head on and most likely all be killed of, but with the added bonus of a small chance of getting the Monke titan. If they decided to flee, the Collossal titan would instead focus his attention on Armin and his squad instead, never giving Armin the chance to strike with a proper well laid plan. Armin and Eren's victory over the Collossal titan, and Levi's victory over the Monke titan was only possible because of Erwin and the young recruit squads sacrifice

What I love about the Levi vs Beast Titan fight is that Levi is constantly one step ahead. The Beast defends his nape but Levi goes for the eyes, he realises he can't see and Levi is already cutting down his ankles, he notices that his ankles are gone and Levi is already positioning to strike the nape, he tries to harden but Levi is already performing the coup de grace. I forgot to mention, to anyone who’ll see this, that what Jean says to armin truly proves how much they trust his intellect. Armin says “I have a plan” and not for once Jean says “will it work?” or “are you sure?” Instead he just says “took you long enough, I really thought we were goners”. Powerful, powerful moment

This is the scene the Ape learnt he isn’t invincible and it’s amazing to see. He played with human lives so casually. He deserved to be sliced into BBQ. The genuine fear and surprise in his eyes as Levi cripples him so accurately shows how super humanly cool Levi is.
@juariyahhendro31313 ай бұрын
Can we just appreciate how brilliant of a strategist Levi is? His first attack on his nape was also positioned so that if he missed (which he did by the Ape blocking), he could immediately switch to attacking his other vitals. Levi is literally playing chess during this fight

going back to Levi's squad vs female titan. I forget if it was a miss or a fake out back then when going for the nape. but both fights you have them going for the eyes, then the feet, and then you carve them up if the targeted area is still being protected from the hardening.

Another thing that I really love about Erwin’s death is the way Levi handled it and the relationship between those two. they have such a unique bond. it was beautiful to see Erwin finally be vulnerable and talk about all of his demons and all the things that bother him, and for Levi somebody who adores him to look up to him and say what do you need from me with no judgment at all…., accept that he was going to die knowing how much he cared about him and to unselfishly say I’ll take that burden off you I’ll make that decision, beautiful moment. This episode is perfect for your style of overanalyization style. Your right that Armins death dwarfs Erwins. Armin is young and full of potential. Potential that will never come to fruition. And you bring up a very good point that will circle back later in the story, but Armin does indeed feel a debt to his friends. A heavy debt that he struggles with internally and in this moment he paid... He paid it all painfully back. So beautiful and tragic.

Masterful episode from start to finish. Amazing moment from Levi vs Beast Titan, highlight of this is definitely Armin’s sacrifice. Honorable mention for me is that this entire series kicked off with Eren and co seeing the Colossal Titan for the first time- the one who blasted boulder sized debris to their homes and was responsible for the fall of their town, and he may not be the main and only enemy of the show but it gave closure to Eren being the one to take down the Colossal Titan with Armin’s sacrifice. That closure along with the next episodes to end this season really shifted most about the series after.
@pojoh25852 ай бұрын
Plus, in the first episode, Armin saved Eren and Mikasa by telling Hannes where they went. Otherwise Eren would have die because of colossal titan attack. And now, in Shinganshina, Armin saves Eren again by letting him kill the colossal titan. Amazin parallel again.

Great reaction, as usual. This episode was considered in IMDB the best TV episode of all times, tied with Ozymandias (Breaking Bad 4x14) with a score of 10 out of 10, until it was bombarded with bad reviews from jealous fans of other series (mainly GOT and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood fans). It currently remains one of the highest rated AOT episodes, currently sitting between 9.8 and 9.9. I can't wait to watch your reaction to the next AOT episode. PS: By the way, I recommend you react to an iconic track from the AOT soundtrack titled Vogel im Käfig, especially the KZbin video titled Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) OST - Vogel im Kafig (eng subs) from kasumi appa's channel. I recommend this video because it includes its lyrics (which summarize the message of the entire series when it was a track from Season 1, which was animated long before the original manga ended) in both its original language (German) and English.

Guys I really hope you see this but one of the best moments that show how the writing is peak in this show is in last ep when Erwin died, remember back in no regrets OVA "don't regret your choice .. A regretful memory will dull your next decision and you'll leave it to someone else to make the call for you, all that's left for you then is to end up dead" and that's exactly what happened with Erwin.. He started thinking about all the soldiers that died under his leadership and sort of realize that he did it out of selfishness! 1 Regretted what he did.. 2 Left the decision for Levi to make and finally 3 Erwin dies..
