Just a heads up I do not work for this company just visiting to get ideas. I'm probably wrong on the sizes I mentioned, and prices vary with appliances and customizations. Hope you enjoy all the layouts and I look forward to building my tiny house very soon!

Those are really small, I do like some of the colors and appliances. Great way to get some ideas. Stay away from stackable washer and dryers, electric stoves and side by side ref, just my opinion from experience.

Just to say , those tiny houses looks good but the price are to much for me ,I would come out building my own tiny house because I know what I want how it build ,how I builded it and with the lumber, not that press wood ,the company always cut Connoron their build $64 thousands I can come have of those prices ,I know when you build your house it going to be absolutely beautiful because you take pride in whatever you do SHOOTDANG GOD BLESS 🙌 😀

I bought my tiny home 4 years ago in Athens Texas! It’s 800 sq ft and perfect for me! I love it. I’m widowed and one bedroom is ample for me. My deck has a wood burning fireplace and it is really cozy… how much room do people need

I love the homes at the Athens, TX location, but there's a huge problem of where to place these homes. So many ridiculous restrictions that prohibit these 399 sq ft park model homes. Even mobile home parks don't allow because they want double wide homes. It is insane!!!!

@@perpetualmotion8090 I had to move from my RV park because the rent space kept going up. Utilities were also not included so had about $150 more on top of $650. Also always check with management because when I sold my trailer the lot rent went up for new owner. It would be better to buy your own lot. Spur Texas has very reasonable priced lots. That is the problem of getting a tiny home is where can you park it and how much would that cost.

I'm glad you like this book. It sounds like a very useful and informative resource for shed-building enthusiasts. kzbin.infoUgkxzaRUJNcbypw-fRBDbqqz43ULIa-1EGP- The author seems to have a lot of experience and knowledge on how to build sheds of different styles and purposes. You must have learned a lot from his tips and examples. The photos are also impressive, they demonstrate the quality and beauty of the sheds. The book itself is also well-made, with glossy, thick paper and a soft cover that is pleasant to touch. This book is a wonderful choice. blush

The first one is my favorite! But, I also like the bright blue/green (#23) kitchen and living room layout! Plenty of room for a full size sofa! I watch Mr. Tiny’s videos all of the time! Someday we hope to have a tiny house on a small piece of property for a get away! I know you have mentioned building something 12 feet wide...You might want to consider building something a little wider. A good portion of the houses Mr. Tiny posts are wider and are still on the smaller side. It looks like you are having fun researching and getting ideas! Good luck!

Just a heads up, if you put a TV or other electric appliance under a mini-split, make sure you put a shelf under the mini-split, prefereably with a gutter built into it leading away from the TV below...in case the mini-split leaks. It's happened before. I love the house with the dark doors and downstairs bedroom and two-way bathroom. It's really nice!

These tiny homes are so beautiful, I’d love to live in one someday. I love the layout and it’s the amount of space for me. I’m single, no kids, I don’t need a lot of space. I love the way they staged the homes with furniture and decorations so you can get an idea of what the place will look like when it’s finished. Apartment living sucks. Sharing walls with noisy neighbors, people above me always stomping around, horrible odors creeping into my apartment from other people’s places because of them smoking or their pets they haven’t cleaned up after or whatever disgusting food they’re cooking, etc. I can’t stand it much longer but have to tolerate it for now because buying a house is expensive and then there’s the question of location and where to live. It’s definitely something to think about for the future.

Most of those are called Park Model Homes and are usually 399 square feet. They can't go over 399 and still be considered a Park Model Home. They originally were only occupied for 3 seasons out of the year and people weren't allowed to live in them full time. A lot of parking places have lightened up on that rule-thank goodness AND the builders are putting in insulation and heat/air conditioning so you can live in one for all four seasons and in harsh climates. If you are building your tiny home yourself, you'll be able to do it for half of what someone will charge you to do it. Pro tip: always take a little notebook, pen and tape measure with you when you go look at houses.

I've thought about layouts for a dream tiny house, and in all I've taken a wall and designed an entire wall of storage. Just make a variety of boxes, different sizes and shapes. Make the doors flush with a small gap so the wall looks sorta like a puzzle. A lot of storage condensed to one area and with pop open doors and no handles it looks like a cool design feature.

I loved the kitchen across one end of the building with windows behind. Like you, I liked the dark stain cabinets and ceiling. The pocket doors and barn doors make sense in a small space. I was so impressed with how soundproof these buildings were. No road noise and you were right next to it. I cannot wait to see what you come up with. Are there people in the area you are moving to who would come in and frame out the building shell? You would finish the inside yourself. Might be worth looking into.

This company (Recreational Resort Cottages & Cabins) is well known for customizing their homes to a customer's choices. Their channel shows off a lot of models (tiny, single section, multi section), & they've even toured a few homes after they were bought, customized, & shipped to the owner's property. They definitely do not cut corners on quality. I'm sure it wouldn't be out of the question for them to take one of their floor plans & have it designed however he wanted it.

Every tiny home needs a loft or 2. Consider a loft at both ends. We need a reason to choose a tiny home over a van. How about 2 lofts with a cat walk to connect. Then utilize the catwalk for cabinets plus walkway. No carpet. Where would keep a vacuum cleaner? How can a person vacuum a loft? Each loft needs a high spot to be able to sit in a chair, like an office, sewing / hobby area.That would be the slam dunk in my book! I look Fred to seeing what you will do.

I like having the porch on the houses, gives you an option to expand if necessary, even if it is just to screen it to use for 3 seasons. If you are building your own, you can always make it taller to provide more headroom in a loft, or even make it a second story room for visitors. I'm too old to be crawling around in a loft, so I'd rather a single story with little guest houses all around the main house. Looking forward to seeing your vision come to life.

I love the first one you showed, I love light colors especially in a small place, I am claustrophobic, so the more windows to me the better. I would recommend putting that in your bedroom out to your back patio though, rather than the front door. I also love the pocket door concept (I have one to my bathroom and love it) as it saves so much space. I also love the barn doors in the bedrooms - gives it so much character. I’m so excited for you and can’t wait to see what you create. P.s. I absolutely hated the ones where you walk into the counter. Reminded me of walking into a camper lol. Good job on the tiny house tours. Very cool to see them all. For your house, speaking as a house cleaner, black sinks, glass shower doors and black facets show mineral build up from hard water really bad and it’s constant maintenance to keep them looking new. If you have hard water, I would highly suggest a water softener if you plan on having the above listed materials. Just something to think about. Love your videos and keep up the good work!

At 18: 03 the aqua blue cabin number 23 is built the best, because the kitchen is really apart from the living space. Coming out of the kitchen at 19: 44 you can have a small table for two in front of the window. With a blade that opens up to six and some folding chairs one can really entertain. Just push the couch back to the wall. Seating in the shower is also real nice. Most of the lofts are really not good for anything. Might as well build up 4 feet higher and have an actual room and children's play area there.
@tamielizabethallaway2413
@tamielizabethallaway2413 8 ай бұрын
You can't do that. Any space completely enclosed within the house that allows for full height standing, is classed as legal living space. If the loft was full height your home would then breach tiny home limits. A tiny house is 399²ft for a reason. It is NOT a home it is classified as a Recreational Vehicle. RV parks whether touring or permanent pitches have size restrictions that must be adhered to not to fall foul of the legal limitations. A porch, even covered with a roof is not living space because by law, living space MUST be insulated and protected from the elements all year round. Same as lofts are not living space, despite being inside, because you cannot stand up. For this reason, if you live where it is warm and sunny year round, by all means you can put your bed on the porch if you wish to, how you use it is up to you, but that doesn't make the porch a second bedroom. Same as with the loft, you can put your bed up there by all means and turn your bedroom into an office, but it is still, by law, a one bedroom home. These laws are in place to protect buyers or renters from being sold or leased a home listed as having more bedrooms than there are. I mean, even prison cells have to comply with minimum ceiling height, length and width. Same with central rooms or spaces being dubbed a bedroom despite not being on an exterior wall and therefore having no windows. A room must have a specific sized window in relation to floor size, to be classed as a bedroom. The way to see the lofts is bonus space. They're not supposed to function as living space or you break size limits. You can have a home with 11ft ceilings and no loft, or you can opt to lower the ceiling height in some areas to 7ft, and have a loft above that area that is 4ft in height. When downsizing from a normal sized house, the lofts can make the transition from house to tiny house much more practical and functional because of the huge storage space available. You can comfortably sit in the loft, generally on ordinary sized chairs, or not far short of ordinary, making the loft ideal as an office or gaming space. For many older couples who have accumulated a lot of photo albums over the years and have mementoes of their children's schooldays, having a loft means not having to part with precious items, that would otherwise prevent them considering a tiny house. It's also a great place to store out-of-season decor, clothing and bedding, or craft supplies, because practical storage in these homes is minimal. So lofts are, without a doubt, essential flex or storage space in a home that is extremely limited in both. Besides if it's somewhere you only stay at weekends, then kids find it fun to sleep in the loft, or provide ideal occasional sleeping space for visiting grandchildren spending a night or two.

Nice houses. But too pricey. I don’t think you will be spending that much doing it yourself.

Wow your tiny houses are huge. Love the porches. Our tiny homes have to go on trailers are are usually for people to go off grid with solar and gas cooking and composting toilets. Ones like those would be close to $300k.

What is with all these jet black appliances?? They look HORRIBLE!!! Seems it's the thing now, but definitely wouldn't have one, that much black in a kitchen is just wrong. IMHO

The turquoise house has the most liveable space for me. I’m not into any style of lift bedroom. There are tiny footprint home developments where these houses in all their wonderful colors really look nice.

Digging #1. Love the sink area. Love the island. The loft on #2 is not practical. Tiny home means, no clutter space...just purge and, you won't need a loft. #2 was plain! #3 looks too busy and, that's while it is empty! Imagine when it is filled! In my opinion, living minimally, is the way to go, in a Tiny House otherwise, buy a standard house! #4...too sterile, too busy! I would love #1 to share with my dog!

Agreeable, price, considering how overpriced these tiny homes are. So when you get a reasonable price, do you think you’re really getting a deal. Which I guess you are. Thank you for showing us these units really enjoyable your filming was excellent.

Good tour, I liked 4 of these homes very much. I’m a big fan of having a downstairs bedroom 👍 I can’t imagine crawling around a loft in my later years !! I’m opposite to you with the colours I really don’t like all that dark wood and especially on the ceilings. Light and bright for me 😊 The houses were well described with just one problem !! You kept describing various things as “small little” this and “small little” that - better to have used just one of those descriptors. Such as small window or small cupboard, or little window or little 38:49 cupboard. Small and little basically mean the same thing. Picky I know, sorry 🙁 Good luck with your own Tiny Home Journey

Well personally I like the funky kitchen. You can stand in one place and reach all your appliances. For somebody like me a senior citizen with mobile restrictions the funky kitchen is the perfect solution the black appliances has got to go I'm old-fashioned and I need the white appliances if absolutely possible... I have noticed and most of those homes where the kitchen sink is pushed back against the wall leaving about 6 in from the very front. That is a (back-breaking )commodity😰... no loss desirable for an older person no ladders no seat steps all on the first floor would be nice an absolutely necessary 😅 feature for me would be. A Jack and Jill bathroom with a large as possible shower and handicap toilet now the young people can adapt to senior pictures but the older people cannot adapt to the younger... food for thought especially if you're in the building business thank you... it's unbelievable as small as these homes are if you want to call him homes.. these prices are explosive for less than 400 Square ft are 500 sq ft wow.... I jump on the bandwagon myself if I could get that much money for a small building. Unable to build at my age. To my regret.😢

Again, I like to funky looking kitchen. Everything is arrange perfectly for functionality for a small as it is it has a lot of storage very handy design I favor the jack and Jill bath myself and I like the double sink I’ll see running water 2 or 3 gallons of it to wash a glass. And those farmhouse sink designs . A favor, the floor coloring in this unit. And of course, no law for me. No stairs for me either must have a porch.❤ thank you for the tour. You’re an excellent host, and your feminine was very good better than most.!

I'm still watching this, but paused to say that so far, at the 21:40 mark...I'm liking the what I call "The U-Kitchen" the best...the one that's $62K..but that's all I like about any of them up to that U-kitchen model...so much wasted USABLE SPACE in these so far...I hope you've looked at other builders of these before you went and spent over 70K to have and live in a tiny home...there are sooo many more ways than the ones you are videotaping on this clip!

The carpet on the loft/2nd floor makes TOTAL SENSE!!! I'm not a big fan of carpet either, but if the ceiling is only 3ft, you're probably going to be crawling around a bit. I'm sure carpet would be easier on the knees opposed to hardwood.

I'm a year late to this video, but for those who think $60-$70K for one of these tiny houses is too much money, well, you're incorrect. An 8' x 24' tiny house on wheels is about that much. These are twice the size and more. Tiny houses are not cheap to build. Usually the "loft" is 4' tall. Edited to add: make sure you get a really good trailer. I'm just in the phase of looking at things and making my layout. You really are better off not having your toilet in front of the door and go with a tankless hot water heater. Check out Tiny House Experts and Incredible Tiny Homes for alot of info. Also, mine will have a loft with spiral stairs from Paragon Stairs! Great video.

Great job, I should have been keeping track of what number was my "Favorite" but I think it was number #4 the one with the front kitchen with windows covering the entire wall. I can't believe that you're using your phone😮. Your honesty & focus on the tiny home & it's features is refreshing! For someone who hasn't been trained, your professionalism & ability to keep your audience engaged is amazing!! I hope to see a lot more of your presentations!?!? God Bless❤😮🎉

I'm impressed by the prices, but it's been a few years since this video was made; they've likely gone up. Does anyone know the name of this dealership, or who the manufacturer is? Jared may be finished with his Tiny Home by now, so we'll need to look and see what he came up with. I'm sure it will be awesome, I've seen some of his brother's work, and he also does very well. Thank you for sharing with us Jared!
