My daughter is 37 years old. She lost her leg last year on November 4th to a blood clot. She was in hospital until New years day. It is the hardest thing I ever had to do. She has been wonderful, she has 4 children so thats what motivates her. She wont let them see her quit. She got her new leg in July 2019. In September she did a 2 mile color run for her sons school for charity. She is a true inspiration. Thank you for your videos you do a great job.

Hey Jared, thank you for sharing and for helping others to keep on, keeping on. I'll share a little of my own story. In 1998, I was in a terrible car accident. I flipped once end over nose and rolled it 10 times. From that accident, I have severe spinal injuries that left me in a wheelchair. I basically gave up on life, and I had three children under the age of 7. I went Into such a deep depression, i basically gave up on life. My in-laws felt I could no longer properly take care of my children, and took them away from me. Depression took me down even further. I gained over 200 lbs in weight and was just waiting to die. Everything that was precious to me, was taken away. One day I realized, my chair was what was disabling me, not my body . I literally, threw it out the door. It took me 6 months to walk from one end if the house to the other ... New determination was born in me. To this day, I've lost 168lbs, I walk with a cane most of the time now. I still fall a lot, but it don't stop me. Last year I started my very first garden. This spring, I'm starting to raise rabbits for meat and the pelts. My life is not easy by far, but, I just take life day to day, sometimes, moment to moment. I'm going to prove to my family who basically shut me out of their lives, that I am strong. I am worth it. That I can and WILL succeed.

@Holidayhills dirtpatch, you certainly have my vote. The weight loss is tough for all of us, but when depressed it's even harder. Good for you making the decision to turn your life around. I hope you enjoy gardening this spring. I miss it. I'm in an apartment and do potted tomatoes. But had a large garden when I had my home.

Jared I know where you’re coming from, I’m disabled because of a freak accident in Tractor Trailer! I’m about same age as your Dad & I didn’t become disabled until I was in my early 40’s. But my story is A 22 inch rim & tire came off of a pimped up Cadillac on other side of interstate 🛣 !!! This runaway wheel & Tire came through my drivers side windshield 130 mph. Only by the Grace of God it didn’t hit me in the face or torso. But The explosion 💥 of my dash & it passing through & hitting the back of my sleeper it Stopped my Tractor Trailer on a Dime!!! This sudden stop & sudden whiplash broke my neck. The dash exploding & the seat 💺 I was sitting in being twisted & stuck up in my back broke my back. But I too had to learn to walk right again along with 2 years of physical therapy. I had to have 3 broken Vertebrae in my neck removed plus I suffered broken back Vertebrae’s. So now I have a artificial neck on the inside that consists of titanium steel, screws & donated bone 🦴. So now I’m totally disabled & I too have my good days & bad days! So I totally understand your disability! I been following Jason & Jaylena’s channel for probably 1 1/2 years now & I subbed to you recently when you’re trying to make it to 10K Subs. Although I haven’t commented on your channel But a couple times, this video hits home 🏡 with me. I know personally the struggles of becoming disabled & bro I know where you’re coming from. 😉👍

I admire you for your “I CAN do it” attitude.. when I first started following the Crocker Homestead, I had no idea you were an amputee.. I watched a video where you commented on it being hard to climb a fence with one leg.. I thought you were joking.. it was after that I noticed the slight limp.. your family did a great job raising you to be independent and capable.. I really love your whole family.. just really wonderful people, all of you!

Same with me, I watched for awhile and had no clue. I did notice he had a slight limp but so many people limp a little bit. If Jared hadn't said he had prosthetic leg or worn shorts I'd probably never have caught on. I'm usually pretty observant too, lol. Jared is a hard working, good looking, good guy. His partially missing limb will only be as big a deal as he let's it be. I went to school with a guy that lost his foot and ankle in a mower accident as a toddler. He used to love to show people, guess it was his way of dealing with it. It never slowed him down, except once when he tried to outrun a cop, cop won. Sorry that happened to you Jared. I'm glad you live in a time that prosthetics are so advanced. I had a farmer ancestor that lost a leg in the civil War, he went back home, kept farming, lived to be 80. Must have been a tough guy. You're tough too but it's good to see you also have a tender side. I've been watching your channel since the start and the only thing I see wrong with you is you make your food too damn hot! Man, you like a lot of spice and hot sauces, too much for me dude and I like hot spicy food, but you're a different level than me.

I see so many people especially kids these days that their go to excuse is I CANT!!! When I was growing up I hated the phrase "can't never could" so go do it and stop thinking you can't! But it's the truth. I'm disabled from a car wreck but didn't actually lose a limb. Just a lot of pain and mobility. But Jared is amazing at the things he does. You can tell a lot of days he's hurting or its hard but he gets it done. Which is just awesome.

I was ran over by a tractor disk at 14 whole left side , had a out of body experience, but the walking in 10 grade the first time with one leg pants cut off so the scar area could breath. And the stears I got from other students I remember that , and the assistant principle pulling me in the office , cause I didnt have a bandage on it , but that's what the doctor wanted , my mom went to the superintendent she was good friends with and told him what happen and that I wanted to go to school , and got it cleared for me to go and the assistant principle got in trouble

I remember my bff telling me about going with her 5 yr old daughter who worn braces and could not walk at that time. She was carrying the child. A woman said "Look the big girl is having her mother carry her. My friend said gently to the woman "the big girl cannot walk." She taught me to honor people who are disabled. Some years ago, I was disabled by a fall. I can't do a lot of things I loved to do before. I learned to pace myself the best I can.

So the social pressures are greater than the dealing with the missing limb. I had an accident when i was around a year old. Resulting in scars to my mouth, and the kids were ruthless. I can not say that it did not effect me. So i can appreciate the emotional side.

I have SO much respect for you and what you have done with your life. If I saw you working on your farm, feeding the animals, tending to the land, whatever, I probably would stare too. After many surgeries gangrene set in and he had his leg removed below the knee. We never treated him any different, he was Stephan. Period. It would be him making fun of himself. He would tell us "go ahead I'll catch up" and would laugh. Also had a warped sense of humor.

I'm so proud of you, Jared!! I understand completely how hard it is and living through all of it. I was 12 when the doctor told my parents and myself, that because of my disease I would end up in a wheelchair by the time I was a adult. I tried to hold it off by wearing braces, which only caused more pain, My mom pushed me forwards, she wouldn't allow my disability to stop me and that made me more stubborn but it also gave me the sense of humor I would need to push myself. The doctor was right though, when I was 32 I had to start using a wheelchair full time but by then, I'm 51 now. You are right, just because you have a disability, doesn't mean it has to stop you and I have even done a video on it, myself. Keep going my friend, big HUGS.

Like you he was interested in sport and he has played crickets, loved golf, sailed, played tennis and has also driven a car since he was 19, the car was not modified. Now he is 80 and had to hand his licence in because he had a mild stroke. He has been such an inspiration to me and so many others, he also has helped so many organisations helping people with disabilities. He earned himself an Order of Australia medal for his work helping others. Now he is confined to a wheel chair and cannot even stand up. Dude, thank you for making yourself so vulnerable! I am absolutely certain that someone newly injured or disabled will find this so very encouraging. I don't have a disability that shows, but I know what you mean about everyone staring. Growing up military we moved a lot which meant new schools regularly. Every time without fail it was stares. Not only as you walk into school, but also in front of each and every class to introduce you. I hated it! So, I can only imagine how much it sucked for you. You should be proud of yourself for that moment. That was the day you started becoming your own man. That is a moment to be very proud of, always.

Good for you Jared! I didn't realize you were so young when you lost your leg. I have seen a few of your videos, then went to your youtube channel and saw "How I Lost My Leg." I take folks at face value and would never had guessed you have a partial prosthesis. Folks who say they can't, should use you for an example of "I can." My cousin has been on crutches most of her life, she is bowls, plays pool and is trying to figure out a way to ride motorcycles as a driver not a passenger. The world needs more "I CAN DO IT" people like you and her. Truly inspiring us all!!!!!

Jared thanks for telling your story. You are definitely are favorite Crocker. You are strong, independent, motivated and most of all compassionate. Life's hard experiences can transform us into something that you can't put a price on, if we see they are meant for our good and don't allow them to make us bitter. These experiences allow us to see and understand people with a greater wisdom and insight that most shallow people don't have. The story you tell, although you may not always see it, has a greater depth and meaning because it's the sum of our life experience. Great writers, artists and leaders all have overcome very difficult experiences. With much wisdom is much sorrow. I don't feel sorry for you, I have great respect for you. Thank you for sharing your story (I just found your videos the other week). I'm 61 years old & was informed a couple of years ago that I will probably have to have my left foot & lower leg amputated due to an inoperable health condition. I have already had multiple toes amputated & wear a prosthetic boot to help me walk (also have a messed up left hand from a table saw accident). You are an incredible young man. My Grandpa used to say "You're only as old as you feel". lol

Your a inspiration young man! Cancer victim four times four years my self! I'm 64 and going toward! Still in this battle and like you I have my painful days to! Like some of the sports I watch on TV! Sometimes at the end and they are behind they never give up! Never ever give up! God gave us a day to be born and a day to die! What we do with life is up to us! As for me I seek and follow Him! Proud of both you young men! Y'all be blessed!

Love your heroic personality. My cousin lost his leg in Vietnam. Never ever complained about it. He was sent to San Diego for rehab. A bunch of amputees went to a bar one night. Some hippies started a fight with them, calling them baby burners etc. They took off their artificial limbs and beat the snot out of them!

You're awesome!! I saw you helping your brother at his new place. I would never have known you were missing your leg. I know working and living in pain. Not like you, but my back got wrecked in 2012. Crushed the bottom disc, herniated two discs, ripped a disc in half and my sciatic nerve is pinched, on top of fibromyalgia. But, like you, we farm crops, sheep, pigs, chickens and have five grandkids to chase. So, I get up every morning in pain, work through it, and go to bed with it. Pain sucks as a boy friend, but I have to live with it. Lol. Thanks for posting your story. It's nice to know the people who understand living with something difficult and painful. I will keep watching you and your brother.

I truly did not know until I saw this video that you had a prosthetic leg. You have absolutely NOTHING to be ashamed of or to apologize for as you do/have done more than alot of people with both legs!! There are so many people out there doing not a tenth of what you do on a daily basis. Your house and land are wonderful...you should be very proud as well as your parents who did a wonderful job of raising you and your brothers!!! Keep on keeping on😊

You are fantastic. I understand the stares. My Hubby lost his eye in a drilling accident. I have lost count of the times people say pirate or sing yo ho ho. All you can do is pray for them as they are ignorant. They are the ones that should be pitied. Everyone calls him Rooster, as in Rooster Cogburn in True Grit. I proudly am Mrs.Rooster. As with him, you have grit. God bless you. Keep being the great person you are. ❤❤
