Honestly two of my favourite genres are Heavy Metal and Metalcore. Therefore I won't vote, I love both about the same. When I have bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Steel Panther etc. along with Killswitch Engage, All The Remains, Parkway Drive, Trivium, etc. to listen to, there is no way I can vote for one of these two genres over the other.

Metalcore is basically metal with way more energy, and a hell of a lot more bass drum notes. Edit: So I made this comment like a year ago, and it's kinda funny going through the replies and seeing all of the really frustrated metal elitists. I made an observation... This wasn't me saying that metalcore was superior to metal, or metal was superior to metalcore. Both subgenres have their fair share of good, and consequently, pretty shitty bands. Why can't we as metalheads just get over that. We all respect the same genre of music, so the last thing we should be doing is disrespecting each other for differing tastes in the genre.

@LimitlessFallout9 жыл бұрын
TheUmbrellaCorpX7 And how many of those bands are still around today or going on strong? Very few. Metalcore's prevalence today depends heavily on the more popular, modern bands like Of Mice & Men and Issues to keep it going. I like metalcore but the bands quickly come and go. It's very rare for a band to last more than 5 or 6 years.
