We had some fantastic magazines such as PowerStation, which reviewed the games and also gave you walkthroughs with screenshots, and sometimes cheat codes. I loved that magazine. Full of great laughs and very good reviews. You could tell they had a blast publishing it. I still have the last issue, and also their index of every PlayStation game rating, I can't remember if the rating index came with that last issue. The official PlayStation magazine was also good, but not as fun, and you couldn't trust its ratings of Sony games because they suspiciously never gave less than 7/10 to their own games. The Prima guides cost around £10, I think, and worth every penny. They included maps, passcodes and every single secret.

Wow, thanks for the video. TR2 is really one of my favourite games ever, and I remember it beeing really really scary back in the days. Most of the animals and bugs werent that bad, but my god when some huge muscular henchman popped out around a corner, I allmost had a heart attack. But still, nothing wasnt as scary as luring the dinosaurus out from the cave and running back to safety and waiting it to randomly walk in your sight. First time when finally I figured out how to make my way down to the valley alive, I had no idea what was waiting for me. I actually made a really high scream when that first dino emerged from the dark and snached me. Good memories. Traumatic, but good. :)

I definitely think that glitch speedruns and glitchless speedruns should be two different categories when it comes to speedruns. People always "a speedrun is a speedrun, end of story" BUT both types of speedrun require skill and both types of speedrun should be given their own world record. I prefer glitchless speedruns because glitch speedruns aren't in the "spirit" of the game but that's just me being a nostalgic old fool at the grand old age of 35.
@element11118 жыл бұрын
Nah I agree 100%. Much prefer glitchless. A lot of respect to people who put in the effort to discover all the glitches, but its speed-runs like this which just make your jaw drop. When you're corner-jumping onto every platform the final time becomes meaningless.

@ultrairrelevantnobody18624 жыл бұрын
May I ask what did Tomb Raider 2 improve? The framerate was a lot worse on PS1 than the original game on the same system, there was way too much of an emphasis on combat, enemy variety is horribly lacking, levels don't have much flow and grow repetitive after a while, enemy placement is horrendous, and the secrets were heavily watered down. Not a good sequel.

Hey Jared, on the balcony with the railing at 9:28, you can back flip over the corner of the railing (to your left as you burst through the window here) - it would cut out a few minutes! - or does this count as a glitch? - It really shouldn't as it is just a case of a well angled back-flip - for me as a kid I would always do Bartoli's Hideout this way and it shaved off half the level for me (but as I say, probably only a few mins for someone as fast as yourself)

@JaredS1298 жыл бұрын
+brandonsgamereviews When you have the pistols out Lara turns faster when she is standing still. Taking out pistols can also cancel camera changes that are programmed in the game when you walk over certain squares. Obviously it makes it easier to pull off certain moves if the camera is directly behind Lara instead of off in the distance looking towards her or something like that.

Hey, I love you avatar thing. Well I guess I reset the most at Bartolli's Hideout just because there a lot of things that need to go right in that level like the jump to the key. But after Bartolli's Hideout the hardest levels to get past were Tibetan Foothills and Barkhang Monastery. The snowmobile is a mega troll and really unpredictable and there is that quite difficult curve jump in Barkhang. There were a few other hard spots here and there but those were the main ones.

i remember this game when i was young, it always scared me, i would sometimes wait allong time because i hear scary noices. This game had a weird and scary vibe as a kid and i can still feel it to this day when watching this gameplay video.

2 questions. Why do you keep pulling out your guns after an action? Also the flare trick I'm guessing it breaks for fall allowing you to keep moving? Non the less you are amazing!

Square Enix not embracing oldraiders is such a dumb business decision. This style of gameplay requires so much more skill and dedication than the uncharted style games and looks amazing being speedran.

What is the purpose of drawing and immediately covering her guns after some actions, like switching buttons? Does it speed-up soomething? Amazing run BTW :D
