I appreciate the last style with the long tail over the top of your head. Thats a good way to be able to use a long scarf if you don't like long tails or turbans. I dont use a volumizer, its not common in the Christian community I'm in. We just use bun pins to make ballerina buns and hair nets to keep them neat. I twist the tails of the rectangle scarf and wrap them around the bun and it adds some interest in the back. Thank you for taking the time to put it together!

Well, you've rescued my wrap game. I was making things way too complicated. But currently, I'm in a more vintage square scarf style. So, basically your green one, but smaller. But honestly, I think it was because I was just tired of re-wrapping. It's so interesting to see how simple it is. I usually only wrap and cover at home, so I can keep my hair loose. (You have 1000s of followers. I'm the weird Apostolic Pentecostal one who keeps her hair up as a gift to her future husband on our wedding night, as I'm divorced (my choice/conviction, not the norm in my church)) And now that I've met the future husband, he thinks it's awesome that I keep my hair up, and said he wishes he could see me in a scarf. He values the gift, and I think it's pretty cool to be able to tell you and G*d thank you for helping me discover, and encouraging, a level of modesty and connection to the Creator who can number the hairs on our heads that just *feels* right. Like you said, it's your choice.

@@amjz77 now that's extra encouraging. It's definitely something that I wish more women seemed open to. I wish I was bold enough to wear mine outside the house with my entire head covered, but a lot of times, I let the messy bun show if I'm going to wear a wrap to the store. But my conviction is to just keep my hair up in front of men, so I have some fun with them with a high bun. I imagine though, that over time, I'll probably be the lady with the scarves outside of more than just my block.

You have inspired me to start on a hair covering journey. Doing large headbands for now. I have colored my hair for YEARS and I’m just so tired of it. I think I’m a little young to be totally gray headed (which is what my roots are telling me!) So I am covering my hair while the gray grows out. Then I will assess whether I color again or keep with hair covering or be totally natural! I have learned a lot from the Wrapunzel website!! One video I really appreciate is that they say Jewish women are not offended when other women cover their hair, regardless of the reasons. That it’s more of a woman thing, a sisterhood so to speak. I had to run many errands today before our big snowstorm later, and it was such a pleasure to get home and sit and listen to your soothing voice. I’m glad you featured the beautiful shimmery green scarf; my favorite! God Bless you and your family 🙏

I so enjoy watching you as you share your pretty head coverings, Chana. Recently I became convicted to wear a veil at Mass. Well it kept slipping and I felt I was being a distraction as I fiddled with it. After Mass I asked another lady how she kept her veil in place. Well I found out that you can sew a little comb into the front that will anchor it. In fact, two veils I ordered have the option to have them sewn in before you receive them. Yes Please.:) Isn't it good that we can all share tips and tricks that make life easier. I think you look lovely in your head coverings. Like you, it is something I choose. Not everyone else does it at our church but I need to follow my convictions. Have a blessed day!!

The way you normally cover your hair brings back memories of watching my grandma get ready in the morning. Absolutely loved this! The more colorful the scarf the better in my opinion! The colors really bring out your eyes as well! :)

Aw thank you! I tend to gravitate towards black because it’s simple, but I do love colors too

This is an amazing video. When I saw the Wrapunzel Sari scarf on the thumbnail and I got so excited! I've been headcovering for five years now and I love learning how others do this. Also, I'm pretty sure Wrapunzel still sells the sari scarves if you're looking for that style!

Thank you! I’ll be checking out wrapunzel :) I purchased this one from Mimi Boutique but they sadly don’t carry the sari scarves anymore

I do not cover my hair, but, I love your Sari scarf. It is so beautiful. My sister told me about the velvet headbands! They work so well for those of us who have odd shaped heads but want to wear sport bands. Finally, I hope I do not offend, but your baby bump is adorable! Lol

Wrapunzel sells sari scarves. I have never tried one of those but I have liked their other scarves. They also sell velvet headbands. I don’t know how their prices compare to others. Until this video they were the only place I knew of to buy scarves.

@@jaroffireflies I second Wrapunzel. There are quite a few variations of "sari" scarf there, and it looks to me like the scarf you showed matches their "melody" sari scarf, which has ten panels that are flat, as opposed to layered which is most of the other ones. Also, they have very high quality Israeli and square scarves, which I do recommend. (I haven't bought from them for a while, because my scarf collection has gotten too big, so I have had to downsize, but I have always had a good experience with them.)

How beautiful is the long narrow rectangle scarf made from Sari's & really like the way you tied it turban style. The square scarfs are no doubt much more practical for day to day use though, easy & quick to tie when you are busy Mum :)
@jaroffireflies2 жыл бұрын
The square scarves are definitely more practical :) I used to wear the turban style all the time before I had kids :)
