Japanese city pop is its own vibe that you can't get from any other kind of music. that's also why it's my favorite genre.
I became a fan of jpop when I went to Japan in 2000 and they had a Japanese Pop playlist on one of the audio channels on the plane. It reminded me a lot of this. I don't remember them all but one artist was Gackt-- they played 'Vanilla' on the plane. It's a great song.

Then just a joke has entered, Cindy Watashi wo shinjite ite I can't stop the loneliness, in my opinion from these lists it's overrated, too many people use it on social media, even though it's on my fast beat list Here's the fast beat, summer beach and first date - yukiko okada, simple love - junko ohashi, yume no tsuzuki and shiawasenomonosashi - maria takeuchi, jazz night - miki matsubara, yozora no iyaringu and twilight bay city - junko yagami (night tempo is debest)
