@Lover boy Deshaun was definitely a top 5 qb in 2020, it’s a team sport. Deshaun can’t play defense. 33TD’s to only 7ints with a 70% completion rate and 112.4 passer rating. Watch the tape and you’ll see that he was definitely a top 5 qb. Moreover, just because a team went 4-12 doesn’t mean the stats they put up mean nothing- if a player broke the sack record but his team went 4-12 does that mean his stats mean nothing or more realistically, most of his teammates and/or coaching aren’t at his level, thus leading to the poor team record.

In the 4 seasons Jarvis has been with the Browns he's averaged 72 receptions per season, and in the 4 seasons prior to that when he was in Miami he averaged 100 receptions per season

The # of targets are similar to what they were when he was in Miami so the opportunities have been there despite the criticism of Baker which is warranted to a degree. Yes, Tannehill was/is better than Baker, but if the number of targets overall and avg. targets per game is the same and Jarvis isn't putting up the same numbers from Miami, why is Baker/The Browns being blamed for that? At what point do we look at Jarvis and say numbers don't lie?

It has happened time and time again throughout history. Megatron is another example as Stafford who was also less accurate than Baker, didn’t start throwing 60+% consistently until 2014 yet Megatron put that work in. Jarvis has been injury prone and he’s been dropping passes that are thrown to him. Let alone the fact that the same dude been accused of being inaccurate has also given Jarvis more 20+ and 40+ catches during their time in Cleveland than what Jarvis was getting in Miami. Isn’t it more difficult to throw deep? They’re both flawed, but Jarvis is getting passes on his lack of productivity and that’s what is inaccurate.

Sure he's had a FEW drops, but Baker is wildly inaccurate and both Byron and Stafford are far better and more accurate the Baker ever has been. Baker completes 61 percent of his passes at a time where teams pass more often. Comparing that to 2014 or before is wildly lacking context Skip Bayless and a flat out lie. Baker isn't accurate and for a small slot receiver accuracy make or breaks you more than a 6'1+ wr needs accuracy from his QB. See you leave out a lot of a details and then try to make the point that it's on Jarvis but for a slot receiver if your QB isn't accurate that affects production and Baker isn't liar. Don't be like Skip use context. Jarvis skillset isn't about going deep its about separation, and eliminating zones with intelligence which Baker can't so

If Deshaun were to go to the Browns you're looking at a top tier offense with created opportunities from a dual threat QB. If the Browns can retain Hooper, Njoku, Chubb, Hunt with the additions of Cooper and potentially Watson it'd be a pretty solid situation to play with that talented of an offense

Had nothing to do with Baker. When Browns couldn't get anyone willing to take on his $90M contract, OBJ forced his way out by whatever means he could and took $1M to play with the Rams as WR3 vs WR1 (with target on his back @Browns). Worth it to him to have a chance at the Superbowl ring as Rams were strongest contenders. Landry didn't play well last year due to pushing through injuries (as Baker Mayfield did) & dropped a lot of balls. His contract was one of the highest in the league & he had to take less for the Browns to keep him. He opted to be a free agent when they didn't agree to what he wanted. Landry & Baker were very close, professionally & socially, and worked together to change the culture in that locker room. Basically, the Browns are cleaning house and want a lot of new faces. I will miss Landry ... 😔

I'd gladly take playing behind Clevelands offensive line, handing off to arguably the best running back duo, and having Cooper, Hooper, and Njoku to throw to. That's a majority of the offense that is solid, and a few pieces being elite. It sounds better to me than quarterbacking for most other teams. It lacks the gaudy stat lines for a passer, but where else is set up better to hand the ball off a few dozen times a game and complete some passes to big bodied targets like Njoku and Hooper that are lined up on mismatches?

I'll give Skip this. He's very passionate about his side of the argument even if he's wrong. Shannon is 100% correct about this topic. Baker is a game manager not a game changer. He has to rely on two top backs to carry this team to success. Baker doesn't make anyone better, they make him better. Shannon is also right about Watson. He clearly has some interest in playing in Cleveland if he's meeting with them. I'm sure Cleveland isn't his 1st option but it's not a bad one. They have a good o-line, 2 top backs, Amari Cooper and a solid defense. They have all that with cap to add more.
