JAS 39 Gripen E: the best 4.5 gen fighter in the world?

Building a modern air force is a complex task. It is necessary to find the perfect balance between capabilities and costs, after all, there is no point in having an efficient aircraft but with prohibitive costs, or a low-cost aircraft but inefficient for the mission. It was with this in mind that Saab designed the Gripen E, the most modern version of the Gripen fighter.

Gripen shall be pronounced (approximately) "greepen" not "graypen". A Grip (english griffin; from Greek γρύψ (grýps), Latin gryphus) is a mythical animal that is part lion, part bird usually depicted wih the hind body, hind legs, tail and ears of a lion and the (front) body, (front) legs, wings and head of an eagle. Gripen is the the definite form of grip in Swedish, i.e. the griffin.

Out of the three in the Grippen class, my opinion is the Gripen then the Typhoon and rounding it off the Rafaele. Most people don’t understand CAP, CAS, COIN and so on. The Gripen can use roads for runways and in war that’s big. The Typhoon is a flying tank all muscle with great eyesight for bar. The Rafaele and do it all like the F-16.

Well, you are probably right, although the Rafale, not Rafaele, but the Rafale and all the Rafale versions of It = the single seat version, the C and the two seat version, the B and the NAVY version, the MARINE = the M, can done all of them the same or almost the same missions, what Rafale is able to do! That yes, It is more Advanced and has been, than the Typhoon, and more Advanced, than the Gripen C, but the Typhoon has right now better or lot better Radar or will have, and even more the UK's = British version of the same Radar of all Typhoons! But!, the Captor E, what I'm now talking about and the British Mk2 version or something like that, where the Germans' use the Mk1 or something version of It is probably the best radars in the World or one of the best for sure!/. But the Swedish Gripen E is probably or maybe the most advanced, than the Rafale, but for sure, Gripen E is more advanced, than the Typhoon!/. But the radar of the Gripen E, the best version called the Raven Mk5 or something which is at least having Its' Gallium Nitrit or something technology, is better, than the radar of / in the Rafale, but hard to say, that I don't know, that how good the radar of the Gripen E is, when comparing to the new Typhoon's radar Captor E and hopefully to the new radar of Rafale aso!/. And I would want to know, of course the facts of each Radars, that how good they really is/are, that to the newest US' F 35s' and F/A 18 Super Hornet's Gallium Nitrit or something, and to the F 15 EX's and to the F 16's Radars, that how good they really are and how good are the Gripen's best radar and the Typhoon's newest, the Captor E aso = and so on!?? That how well they compare to each others!?!? But I think, but i could be wrong, but I think the Gripen C is more Advanced after Its' MIDS20 or something, the latest updates, than the Tejas Mk1 version, or I think, that It is more agile, not much, but little bit more, than the Tejas Mk1!/. But Gripen E should be better, than the Tejas Mk1, but hard to say about the Tejas Mk2, that how Advanced it really is and will be!?!? Hopefully as good as the Gripen E!/. The quality of any weapon is very much depending on how it is used, and which weapons it is working together with. The Skandinavian airforces are working together, and will be with some 150 F-35 Lightning II, 94 JAS 39 C/D, 60 JAS E, 60 F-18 Hornets the SAAB a340´s (now that is gold) - and then we will see, hopefully Denmark will also buy Griffen... for 25 million people.. with that spread.. is not that bad. The F-35 and E´s.. will be a very good combination..

The whole generation thing is farcical and entirely artificial. However: Gripen is a very good option for those on a tight budget. But to suggest it's the best of its kind is ridiculous for a whole host of reasons.

they don't. its automatic, the computer shows the pilot what is most important in the moment. the pilot sets up a preferred screen layout beforehand and saves it then the computer gives the pilot the information needed in every moment continuously. all active combat related controls are physical switches or knobs.

The SAAB Arexis EW suite actually is gen 6 features. No other modern fighter jets have that. The German Air Force have ordered Arexis to update their Typhoons.

the grippen need a change in wings material so they can be more flexible and making possible complete and susteined 360 circles in the air, specially without loosing speed, like the typhoon or the rafale.
