I'd say it's a good mix of netball and grid iron. Aim is to get the Frisbee to the other side. Can't move more than a few steps after catching. Defending is non contact but doesn't have the stupid one metre rule like netball. And uhh yeah...

This is a perfect sport for coed... Things like strength which is the huge defining factor between men and women don't matter in this sport really... its all about routes, speed, and accuracy while throwing the disc

Yes, Frisbee is trademarked by Wham-O, one of the US companies that makes discs. Their discs are more commonly used for recreation, where the ones used in games like this one are probably made by Discraft. Ultimate discs have less of a lip around their edges than Frisbee discs and I believe (although I could be wrong here) that they are slightly lighter at exactly 175 grams.

So in an official co-ed game, is the number of women the same amount as the number of men on each team, and can men only cover men and women only cover women? I just don't know how it works

Well, ultimate is usually 7 on 7, as it is here, so unless you have 3 and a half women and the same number of men . . . No, they played 3 women 4 men. And the usually cover the same gender, but a guy can intercept a huck intended for a woman, for instance. In a confusing transition they might end up covering different gender.

That's a dubious assumption that NONE of the women can cover ANY of the men, but at this athletic level, you would expect that assumption to be close to true. These girls are amazing, but most of the guys are more so.

Sol's reply is incorrect. They play 3 women / 4 men for two points, and then 4 women / 3 men for two points. There is no rule requiring men to cover men or women to cover women, though it's common for this to happen so that each defender is covering someone they're equal to, athletically. The Australian team often played switching defence where each player just defended whoever was closest to them whatever their gender. Zone defences mean you defend an area rather than a player, so you might defend a man or a woman, depending on who is where.

I've never seen this coed game. When I played in college, we had girls on the team, but they were just another player. This game seems to alternate by points between 7 women and 3 or 4. I don't think I've seen an all-male point. Must be by rule.

They said at about 26:00, it's a game to 13. If the clock gets to 80, blah blah. They were talking about a tie, rather than the leader wins. Not sure what happens if time is up.

Not sure what the rules were for this tournament, but there are two ways it's typically done: 1. Hard Cap. When the clock hits the hard cap time, finish this point, then game over. One more point if it's tied. 2. Soft Cap. When the clock hits the soft cap time, finish the point, then add 2 to the leading team's score and play to that (e.g. if it's 9-6 then play to 11).

One step stop from a full out run?? Knee injuries are already one of the most common injuries in the sport. The rule is to stop as fast as possible, around three-ish steps is usually the rule of thumb. Kind of more important from game advantage pov is that players are supposed to come to a stop in a straight line instead of getting to a better continuation position by altering their slow down path.
