@@greg7371 I normally go with future log styles that don’t have a set space for each day of the month. I’ll normally just have a larger box to write anything that’s going on for each month, and just start each entry with the day number it’s happening on. Then if there are multiple things happening on one day, I just write in multiple entries that start with the same number 😊 hope that make sense!

I’m a huge fan of the Alistair method for future logging, because some months are insane, and others there’s usually nothing that needs to be put on a future log.

I love your column one with the dates 1-31 written down the side. It flows really well. Old, but gold. 👌😍 I'll be doing that in my new journal.

I love the look of the jigsaw future log! Very fun indeed. In terms of function, though, I really love the Alastair method or the calendex. My journals usually aren't numbered, though I plan to revamp my system in the next couple of months, and numbering pages is on my list of things to consider! But I think the Alastair method combined with a year at a glance is brilliant.
@jevylein3 жыл бұрын
Nowadays I absolutely love the Alastair method combined with a year at a glance next to it. Simple, clean and easy to setup. In some of my past journals I used the Calendex. Switched to the Alastair method because it needs less maintenance

Because I need to see the exact day inside of the month that something is going to happen, my favourite is the vertical (2:24). Also because things tend to happen at the same time... But the circular spreads may be good for other things like a phrase per month, a month review, or things like that. I like how all the spreads look.

I actually put mini-calendars at the top, and then list out days 1-28/30/31 underneath -- so I get to see which days have things going on with colour coding, but I can write down the event itself underneath. it really helps me!

My future log is centered around weeks (just like the rest of my bullet journal). I fit 10 weeks vertically in two pages and I write the day of the week and the date. This helps me to plan out my lessons and other important events. Even though I pre-plan my weeklies for the whole year, I like the panoramic view of the (roughly) semester. Now I'm trying to make it more aesthetically pleasing.
@plan4life2 жыл бұрын
It’s funny after reading the official guide to bullet journalling to see how much people have deviated away from the original system to the extent they don’t even know what the future log is for anymore. It seems its all about the aesthetics these days and not so much about the functionality. I really want this system to work for me so I am trying to gain a better understanding of the modules before launching into the fancy layouts. Still this was fun to watch.

I like the vertical ones best because I like making lists lol I'm just getting ready to start a new bullet journal for the rest of the year, starting in June, and I'm going to do two months per page for my future log. That even gives me half a page for "next year" which I usually forget to add. 😁

The front of my journal is setup like 12 single monthly full spread calendars. So the first double spread is January, the 2nd is February and so on. My future log is actually my phone calendar, because it stresses me to have informations in to many different locations. Also, it means I have it with me all the time (my bullet journal does NOT come out of the house !). And I don't really do a monthly either, just a pretty title page and a very elaborate monthly health tracker (chronic desease to monitor). Do you use it a lot ? You don't say in this particular video (I think you talked about it in another) if you also have a digital calendar in parallel with your bujo. That's what stressed me in the end (having to check that both calendars where acurate, and I didn't forget to report infos from one to the other).
@JashiiCorrin3 жыл бұрын
I’ve been in the process of trying to consolidate a bit so I don’t have everything everywhere 😊 in my current journal I didn’t set one up because of lack of use in my last journal, but I actually found to stressful to not have it 😅 I’ve since added a simple one in the back of my journal 👌 my journal does come everywhere with me though 😄💜

@@JashiiCorrin Yeah, it's funny how the first criteria most of us have to use (or not use) a feature of the bullet journal is "it stresses me to have/not have it" 😁 I believe it's a good sign actually, that we really use it to help us, and not to add to our mental charge.

Very good ideas! I am still not sure about the future log: the way my mind works, very few future events should have a date, so the date part of this spread should have as little part as possible.
@JashiiCorrin2 жыл бұрын
I find that a lot of my future events have a date 😅 when it was for school, it was things like term dates, parent evenings, school-specific days off, staff only days which all have dates decided in advance 😊 if it were for more personal things, it would be stuff like events and gatherings that you need to buy tickets for well in advance and such 😛 I suppose it really depends on personal circumstances though 😄
