I mix T11 & T14. It's peeeerfect. I have been going a little more buttery blonde lately. Darling the 10 vol developer will open the cuticle so you don't have to worry abt using it. My next door neighbor was trained by Redken and she showed me how to do mine and she washed (I mean shampooed my hair 3 times w/shampoo and conditioned it before she did the toner and she said if i could wash it and deep condition it with heat and do the toner the next day that would be even better. Also I never brush my hair wet. Anything palmers my hair eats right up.

Tips: If u bleached your hair, don't brush your hair wet. Wait for it to dry. That way it's less pulling your hair. Also, u can put baby powder into your hair to make it easier for the brush to glide.

I think this is a good color option for super fine hair. My hair is super fine and lays flat on my head and it looks like I have very little hair. Natural blondes have very fine hair, so it makes sense that platinum is a suitable look for us. The lighter color reflects the light and makes our hair look fuller. Lightening the hair also damages the shaft a bit, making it fuller by default. But doesn't damage it enough to look bad.

Love this! So helpful :) I use purple shampoo but still feel like my hair is a bit dull - can I use these products to re-tone my entire head of hair or would that be too much? (my hair is very long so it would take a bit longer to apply)

The best tip I have ever gotten when your hair gets dull from purple shampoo, use a clarifying shampoo. It sounds a little scary like it would dry out your hair but honestly it makes the biggest difference. I have platinum hair and once every two weeks I use a clarifying shampoo and then use a purple shampoo and it's super bright white. You could do a clarifying shampoo and then use Wella to tone but you might not need something that intense. Definitely use a deep conditioner afterwards as well. Hope this helps!

The Wella toners are permanent toners I believe. I can't use those, I find them too harsh. But your hair looks beautiful! I've been using only a toningi shampoo to tone because it actually gave me a really icy result. I'm hating trying to bleach my 3 inch roots right now. My hair is way too thick, I always have to do it twice. I bought a platinum semi direct dye to try. Hope it works.

@@beehumblewithmevicky2792 Yes, you can definitely tone away yellow or orange with a good quality Purple shampoo. Shimmer Lights has a lot of pigment. Not all shampoos that are purple work as well.

Coconut oil contains lauric acid triglycerides which penetrate the cuticle layers and bond to the proteins of the hair resulting in better protection and preservation of the hairs protein. Argan oil is composed of Oleic and Linoleic acid which does not provide the same benefits although it can make hair smoother and shinier.

I HAVE to mask &/or condition before I even try to tackle my hair and it still takes me atleast an hour id say. With 20 vol I think it should be ok, again I think! (*not a stylist or professional in hair industry* this is based on the results Ive always gotten and how the hair feels; if you know what I mean, you know 😂 its all about that slip) Point being I recommend trying it out if you really struggle to untangle your hair; that breakage is not worth it! And if you/we give up on brushing it all the way out, we can end up with noticably uneven patches where a tangle was blocking it when we toned Gotta thank you tho, first few times I lived my own hair I definitely got some confidence and Insight from your videos! 😘 #blondelife 😂

If you have pale yellow hair the t18 will be best. If you have a more orange hue in the hair then the t14 will whiten best. None of those toners are white per se.. But t18 works well counteracting yellow tones to make it look more white. t14 works well counteracting orange toness to make it look more bright blonde.

T18 tends to be a darker Ash result with more gray tones which is why she stated she preferred the T14 as her results came out a lighter shade with T14 once she bleached to a pale yellow.

I have regular brown hair, a tiny bit on the lighter side, I was gonna go for the t14 after bleaching but I’ve been hearing that t18 may work better in certain scenarios, I’ve seen dark hair get bleached to golden and t18 didn’t work yet t14 did, and ppl with light hair like mine using t14 after bleaching and making no difference it leaves me a little worried, I just want the most whitest non brassy I can achieve! Would you recommend the t14 over the t18 for lighter brown hair?

Your hair needs to be ATLEAST a level 8 (which is really light) to use these types of toners which is why when people with brown and dark orange hair use it, it does nothing. You have to lighten it as much as possible for the toner to work

If you mean tone after bleaching, then yes. If it is now yellow, not orange, use a toner to get the right shade of blonde! I've had to use almost two bottles of toner when my hair used to be super long.

Toner is damaging, but if you use a lower volume developer (Like Guy Tang’s 6V Developer on his website), you won’t get as much damage

Generally, most women wash their hair far too often. Even if your hair is fine and not thick, and seems to get oily after a day or so, you can actually stop washing it so often and over time the hair won't be as oily, it is doing that in response to constant stripping with the shampoo. There is also a tendency to wash hair and body in hot water which is a real no no. Coldest water you can handle. I know it goes against everything we think is the right thing to do and it takes some time to adjust but if you look at the way hair looked in the 40s you'll notice it's not as dry. Every single stylist on a movie set will tell you they love to work with unwashed hair. The cuticles aren't getting as roughed up every week and it is just all around easier to work with. Moisturize that hair, especially if you are in the sun a lot, or if you are in dry environments or in a car with a heater blowing on you. You can brush it with the right kind of brush for your hair type, and that distributes the oils better, you can avoid conditioner on your scalp, and then this leaves your hair in better condition so that if you do start using chemicals on it there won't be nearly as much damage. Protect with a heat protectant when you use hot styling tools.

If it requires a developer, it is not semi-permanent. Semi-permanent color stains the outside of the hair strand and does not require lifting of the cuticle. Wella toners are all either demi or permanent color and still damage the hair.

A developer is needed when toning with the Wella toners, usually a 20 vol. You can look into other toners that are compatible to be used with a 10 vol, which are deposit only, if you aren't concerned with lightening your hair further.

Hey, I wanna try this I’m tryna achieve white hair like yours my hair is a very light platinum blonde and every toner I use just makes my hair stay blonde or it goes silver/purple. To get white do I have to use a developer with the toner to achieve the white colour and for your ends and rest of ur hair do you use the developer with the toner every time u tone your hair? Yes. You really should be using a 20v developer with this product. 10vol if your hair is already very light/not yellow blond, or fragile. Your hair kind of looks like a bleach blond from your pic. I suggest to use this with 10vol, put it in a bottle and shake it up with a little bit of water. Put it on and watch it or it might go blue or even greenish if your hair is really yellow. If it does go greenish, that means your hair is too yellow. So go for t18 with 10vol and water to dilute it. If that tends to turn your hair purple or grey that means your hair is yellow, but it's already too light so the toner is more purple than your hair is yellow, if that's the case, then I just recommend using Shimmering lights purple shampoo alone. You might have to do a few rounds of like 10 minutes but I promise you will get that Nordic ice blond just like that.

And also when you refresh your roots with bleach, once you wash the beach out it passes through your ends essentially stripping out the toner as would a bleach bath. So yes when you tone your hair after bleaching it it's okay to reapply the same toner to the ends but only after having given the roots a longer time to process because your ends will only need about 3-5minutes only.

@@maddylupton1525 Sure thing. If you're using t18 your hair won't turn green because it's not a blue based toner like t14. It's a purple one. Just be careful how long you leave it on your ends since your ends are more porous they're gonna wanna suck up that purple real quick. Then you're gonna end up with white roots and purple/silver ends. 🥰 But good luck. And I would love to know if it works out for you.

If you applied the toner to overly wet hair it can sometimes cause uneven color saturation or you may have just missed a spot :) As long as your hair does not seem brittle after the process, attempting to spot color the areas you missed shouldn't hurt. If your hair needs some time to recover, you can do a temp fix by using a good quality purple shampoo like Shimmer Lights and do a spot treatment on the missed area. Just apply the shampoo directly to the areas on dry hair to get the strongest effect or slightly damp for less pigment. No matter what you choose, attempt to keep your already processed hair out of the way.
