Jason is da man...no doubt.. My father was a pro bowler when he was young...had a pro shop for 35 yrs and bowled great up until the age of 72...passed away last year at 75..lymphoma. ....and is up there enjoying this stuff I'm sure.

for the last few years, ive been a fan of Jason Belmonte's bowling style, i dont 10 pin bowl myself, (in canada we also have 5 pin bowling which used to be on TSN for professional bowling) but for some reason i hate watching 5 pin bowling, but love to watch 10 pin, but even though i dont 10 pin bowl in leagues, i still love watching it. Went to a few PBA (i think it was PBA) when it came to Frank Sissons Silver Dollar Casino and Bowl here in my city

This is how important spares are: if Jakob didn't miss in the 6th, he wouldve shut out Jason with a 239 had the scores been the same everywhere else. Regardless though, what a match. Jason has inspired so many people, including myself, to hopefully one day be as good as he is now. Congratulations Jason.

if he had a spare then Belmo would have focussed more on his last shot. You could clearly see his last shot wasn't an attempt to hit a strike just to hit the middle of the pocket to get some pins down.

He’s only 36 now and joined the PBA in 2008 so if he can stay consistent then in the next ten years he should have 22 at least and if he plays even longer than Pete Weber will then he should have at least 33 majors. Since Pete joined in 1979 and isn’t retired so that’s 40 years and he’s only 56

I feel bad for Jakob. First Chris Barnes, then Bill O'Neill, and now Jason Belmonte. He should have 3 more titles than he does now, including the World Championship. But all of them he lost by less than 11 because he missed the 7-pin.

Jacob is a very rare talent and he will win many, many more titles before he is done. We look at some of the young guns out there now, Tackett, Simonson, and Butturff and we forget how young these guys are, and how polished their games already are. I won't be surprised if Butturff becomes one of the top 10 bowlers of all time when he is done. But for now it's Belmo's day. He's proven that he is still the best and the young guys will have to really crank it up to beat him consistently.

I think bowling's just that type of a game. I know Chris, Bill, and Jason have all been in Jakob's shoes. If it comes down to one match, you inevitably need a bit of luck to win. Jakob is also a superb talent. I'm sure he will join one of the greats in the future.

I can't wait until the U.S.Open this fall because Jason Belmonte could accomplish two things. A U.S. Open win will make Belmo the second player to capture the "Career Super Slam" (winning all five majors) Mike Aulby is the only other one to have done that. He will also be the first to win THE CALENDAR TRIPLE CROWN in a calendar year. He's already won three majors in a calendar year already. Belmo getting to 20 majors is not that far fetched anymore.

you can not compare these bowlers today with the past . Today the ball does most the work. Just throw very hard and fast. Try doing that with a rubber ball, wood lanes and No computers.
